On behalf of the players in the CPOT league, I would like to extend thanks to our families, the team managers, and the umpires. Without the support of our families, the efforts of the managers, and the services of the umpires, we would not be able to have a season. Each of these areas is very much appreciated.
Looking ahead, in order to keep the CPOT league going we need to get younger. Looking around the league, each team has a fair number of players well into their 40s and even in their 50s. Don't misunderstand...it's great that we still are able to compete and play some good baseball. That said, from a longevity perspective we're going to need to have more of the younger guys not just playing, but getting involved with the management of teams and with the administration of the league. It's certainly a time commitment and many of us are already stretched, but for the league to continue to operate year in and year out, the continued infusion of younger people will be necessary.
I hope everyone has a great offseason and remains healthy and active. Do what you love and love what you do! The 2025 season will be here before we know it!
The Central Pennsylvania Over-30 baseball league provides a competitive alternative to softball for men 30 years of age and older, enabling us to continue playing the game that we love!
