An impressive weekend of baseball was cut short for the 16u group after a tough 4-1 loss.
Uncommitted 2022 RHP/1B Logan Bryson threw an impressive complete game, shutout in the quarterfinals on Sunday to help East Cobb Prime 16u advance to the next round.
Bryson went the full 7 innings, only allowing 2 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 7 and getting his fastball up to 87mph. Logan Bryson is no stranger to big games as he was awarded the Most Valuable Pitcher award this fall for his performance in a crucial game during the 2020 PG Southeast Elite Fall Championship. "Perfect Game 16u North Atlanta Open
A competitive 16u bracket melted down to three-seed East Cobb Prime 16u and four-seed 643 DP Tigers 16u Hawkins meeting in the championship game, with East Cobb erasing a five-run deficit late in the contest to earn a 7-5 win in extra innings.
643 scored two runs in the first and one run in each of the third, fourth, and fifth innings to jump out to a five-run lead, but a run for East Cobb in the bottom of the sixth got them on the board, four more in the bottom of the seventh tied the game, and two more in the eighth walked them off with a title.
Tournament MVP Kolby Kimberly closed out the win on the mound, tossing the final 3 2/3 innings and not allowing a run. He added two hits, two runs, two RBI, and two walks in the championship game at the plate to complete his immense impact.
Dylan McCarthy was named the MV-Pitcher of the event, tossing seven innings across two outings while not allowing an earned run and striking out seven, giving up just two hits."

Scout Blogs:
Jacob Lauderdale (2021 RHP, Thomasville, GA) absolutely wore out the wall in left field with three doubles to the pull side. Lauderdale generates very good bat speed with torque and drives the ball well with his total body.
Brayden Williams (2021 OF, Canton, GA) is very strong and is able to whip the barrel with intent and backspin. Williams collected a number of knocks including a scorched double that carried over the head of the centerfielder.
Brandon Patanao (2021 LHP, Villarica, GA) swung with lots of controlled violence and a desire to generate significant impact. Patanao collected three hits and torched all four batted balls while there's excellent leverage and smoothness to the barrel plane.
Max Beck Berendsen (2021 OF, Marietta, GA) has a strong swing that gets the barrel through quickly as he added a double down the pull line. He showed the athleticism too with a diving catch earlier in the game.
Andre Hunter (2022 SS, Lithonia, GA) made a couple of stellar plays over at shortstop, showing off the footwork and body control. Hunter made a spinning play up the middle and showed good range to either side.
Brayden Campbell (2022 RHP, Woodstock, GA) is a line drive oriented hitter and he did just that during the game: collecting three line drive hits. Campbell has quick hands and an efficient stroke while turning the barrel over with intent.
Jacob Lauderdale (2021 RHP, Thomasville, GA) started the game on the mound for the Navy team, striking out two hitters over his two innings. He displayed a 81-84 mph fastball, topping out at 85 with good life. He also flashed a sharp-breaking 72 mph curveball. He also had a double at the plate.
Brayden Williams (2021 OF, Canton, GA) displayed good plate awareness, quick hands, and a smooth swing with a double to CF in the 3rd inning.
Brandon Patanao (2021 LHP, Villarica, GA) roped a line-drive double to LCF showing a very athletic, fluid swing with great plate discipline.
Will Nelms (2021 OF, Cumming, GA) has a slender 6-3/165 build but loose and quick hands in his swing that create barrel whip and bat speed. He has nice leverage at contact and showed promising power.
17u East Cobb Prime finishes ranked statewide, regionally, and nationally in the end of the year PG Rankings.

12 college commits from this group and counting!!
Forever a part of the East Cobb Prime (then ATEC) family! Nothing but love for Dylan. Can't wait to watch him play at the next level. Big things coming from this guy!
“My decision to play for Tolley Lovejoy and Mike Zilleox at East Cobb is one of the best decision I have ever made. Playing for them helped shape me into the baseball player I am today. Their knowledge of the game made a huge deference in my level of play. They always pushed me to play at a higher lever. The exposure I got playing for these guys was unreal. They worked extremely hard to make sure I played in front of as many scouts as possible. I can honestly say playing for these guys is the reason I am playing Division 1 baseball.” - Dylan Bailey

16u East Cobb Prime - Zilleox started their fall campaign with a bang! The group finished a perfect 5-0 last weekend, which was capped off by a 14-4 victory in the championship game. Tyler Smith paved the way on the mound, resulting in being awarded the Most Valuable Pitcher in the tournament. Alex Kerr and Nicholas Angelakos also had strong performances on the mound. Mason Jablonski and Kade Heflin led the way offensively. The 16u squad outscored their opponents 31-6 over the course of the weekend. Certainly not a bad way to start the year.
Congratulations to all our recent commits!!

16u East Cobb Prime defeated the 17u Diamond Devils to win the 2019 17u CABA National Championship in Clemson, SC.
Coach Mike,
I just want to thank you for the great experience we had over the last two years. When we were considering ATEC I asked if Jacob was going to be a starter. You told me he was and I would just have to trust you. Well, you are a man of your word and then some. Jacob has become a better player because you let him lead and make decisions on the field. His confidence (baseball IQ ) shows when he is at a tryout or showcase.
If you need a parent reference send them to me.
Regards,
Jay Berger
Current East Cobb Prime players, Jacob Lauderdale and Kodi Smith, as well as EC Prime alum, Will Sanders, were recognized for their outstanding performance at the 2018 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event.
2020:
"Will Sanders RHP - 2020 - Atlanta, GA South Carolina
Sanders was electric during his stint on the mound as the 6-foot-6, 188-pound South Carolina commit ran his fastball up to 90 mph and missed a ton of bats. The MV-Pitcher of the WWBA Underclass World, Sanders has excellent physical projection and showed very good feel for his changeup, which was ran up to 80 mph with late sinking life.
Kodi Smith RHP - 2020 - Pell City, AL Uncommitted
Smith has a very projectable 6-3/170 build and very good right handed bat speed with a power approach that puts the ball in the air consistently with good carry. He showed solid third base actions and arm strength defensively and was up to 83 mph on the mound."
- Perfect Game
2021:
"Jacob Lauderdale RHP - 2021 - Thomasville, GA Uncommitted
