Injury or sick player rule.

 

As of today if you are batting full roster more than 9 up to 13.

If player needs to come out. You condense lineup, more than 9 left 

It is not an out. If it takes you to 8 players it is an out, each time that player

Comes up. Only a player on roster for the Tournament can be entered in game 

But that player once removed can not come back in that game.

 

Can be put in following game. Same day or next.

On Elimination day

 

When times expires. Last out of previous inning goes to 

2nd base. No outs.

Repeat full inning until winner.

 

If time remains and it is tied. Player full regular 

Extra inning.

1-Head to head if everybody who is tied ,played each other.

2-Runs against

3-Runs For

4-Run Differential

5-Coin Flip

 

 

Batting out of order is a violation when the wrong batter come up to the plate.

The penalty is an out. When the team in the field appeals to the umpire, before the pitch to the next batter or a ball is put into play.

However the correct batter, may replace the incorrect batter before they complete thier time at bat, and assume any balls and strikes

that already have been called. 

If the improper batter has batted and reached base by any means , the appeal needs to happen before a pitch. If it does that batter is out. Then the line up goes the way it should.

If the appeal happens after at least 1 pitch the appeal is NOT valid. The improper batter stays on base and we continue with the regular correct line up.

If for some reason the improper batter hits into a double play and the defensive team appeals before the next batter. 

Improper batter is out and the other runner goes back to first base. It is only 1 out and you continue with the right batter who should be up.

ROSTER RULES FOR TOURNAMENTS FOR PLAYERS

 

A player can only be on one roster in the same GMG Tournament ,same age on a weekend.  If he is playing up in one and his age in another 

that is ok.

 

If he does play in two teams in the same Tournament all games for he plays for for any team is forfeited. Any exception must be sent in and approved

By Tournament Director. 

 

 

Bat usage for all GMG Tournaments

 

Bats for 7 and 8 u are ONLY Usa Bats.

Bats for 9 thru 12 u are swing what you bring.

Bats for 13 thru 15 are BBcor Drop 3

 

Except for Fall 13 u, they can use up to a drop 5.

Come Spring must be Drop 3.

 

16  16/17 and 17/18 up are Wood Bat Tournaments.

No Composite Bats or Baum Bats.

 

Update on runners Diving into bases.

 

For the 2024 season 11 and 12 now can.

For other ages 7 thru 10 there are 2 exceptions to the rule 

1- if a throw is going back to the bag

2- In a rundown.

 

The runner is not out.

7 U Rules

Mound at 42 feet. 6 pitches. Must hit or strikeout. No walks. If pitch 6 is fouled, then next pitch

Is thrown to be hit or missed. If fouled repeat process.

Overthrows are a max of one base. From 1st to 2nd. 2nd to 3rd. No over throw of 3rd. 

Batter must be hit in.

No new inning after 110 or 6 innings. Games can Tie Sat, Winner on Sunday.

4 Runs Max an Inning . Until last inning determined by Umpire. Letting both coaches know.

15 runs after 4 10 runs after 5 innings. 

 

10 players can be used in Field. 4 outfielders.

Bat entire line up. Unlimited substituions on defense. Bat 9 official BasebLL Rules, except the starter can re -enter once. Once sub comes out they cannot re-enter.

The last inning is a max of 8 runs called Unlimited 8.  Championship game is 6 innings or no new inning after 120

Winning team and 2nd place will get medals after the game. USA Bats only starting fall of 2023.

Please use players ages as of April 30 2024 for Fall  Tournaments. Then April 30,2025 for Sprimg Summer.

If a player is proven to be too old, the win is forfeited. Losing team then gets the win. 

Extra Innings in a Tied Game.

After the unlimited Inning, 1 extra inning with max 4 runs. If still tied , then both teams will share 

the Co Champions.

 

8 U Rules 

130 no new inning. 

6 inning games. 4 run max per inning.

15 runs after 4 innings. 10 runs after 5 innings.

5 steal attempts max per inning. Ball must past catcher.

No steal of home. No pass ball

No Delayed steal.Any bases.

No dropped 3rd strike. No infield fly. 3 out fielders.

Last inning when determined by umpire. Unlimited.

Roster is 12 players. Awards are based also off roster.

Can bat entire line up. Free defensive substitutions with it. Courtesy runner mandatory for catcher in game next inning with 2 outs.

Saturday POOL PLAY Can have ties. Sunday must have a winner. International tie breaker if needed.

Medals for winning team and second place.

Whatever age you are as of April 30 of current year is the age you play in. If you are too old and protested, the team will get the lost. The other team

will be awarded the win.

USA Bats Only for this age starting as of September 8th.

Rules for 9 thru 12.

6 innings  140 no new inning or 15 12 10 8 starting in the 2nd Inning.

If the home team is batting and the time expires and they have the lead whatever the score is at that time is when the game ends. Only if a homerun is 

hit over the fence will extra runs count. Then game is ended.

If the home team needs to bat because they're down then they finish the full ending until they get three outs or take the lead.

Courtesy Runner for catcher with 2 outs is the last batted out. If all players batting. If you have subs, then a sub is  runner.

Also a courtesy runner can only run once in an innning.

Bat entire line up. unlimited defensive substitutions. If team is only batting 9 official baseball rules,except starters can re-enter once. Same spot in batting order. Once a sub comes out, they can't return in that game.

No bat restrictions. No pitching restrictions or limits on pitchers.

No metal cleats. No diving into base on a hit or steal for safety for 9 10 .If so you will be called out. You can dive back into a base.

11 and 12 years old gets 1 balk warning per pitcher, 2nd one is enforced for the same pitcher.

Balks are dead 

Chip games are 6 innings or 15 12 10 8 if a run rule occurs. If not ,no new inning after 1 hour 40.

Starting on March 23,2024 the 12 u age can dive into any bases.

You swing what you bring. USA or USAA bats.

 

As of 3 23 24    11 and 12 can dive into base. 

 

Tie Breakers are Head to Head if all teams played each other. If not is then goes to runs against and runs for.

Please use players ages as of April 30 2024 when deciding on what age to enter your team in now. If a player is too old and it is proven then

the other team in the game gets the win.

On a forfeit it is 6 - 0 score.

Following high school federation rules, when a balk is called it is immediately dead. Negating any further action that might occur.

Third to first is a balk too. GMG Baseball will be following these rules for all ages 11 thru 18.

Rules for 13 thru 15 on the 60 90 dimensions.

Games are either 7 innings or 140 no new inning or  15 12 10 8 starting in the 2nd inning.

Courtesy runner for catcher with 2 outs. If agreed at ground rules can be for pitcher also. It is last batted out if everyone is batting. If you have subs, then it is one of them. It can also be at any time, if agreed by both coaches at ground rules, with the umpires.

Bat entire line up. Unlimited defensive substitutions. Bat just 9 , follow reguklar baseball. Except starters can re-enter once. In same spot in order and once'

a sub is taken out , they cannot re-enter in the game.

Runner can only be a courtesy runner once in an Inning.

No balk warnings for 13 thru 17/18..

If pitcher is taken out for a visit in an inning they cannot come back to pitch in that game. If they are moved to a position in the field between innings they can 

come back to pitch, one more time.

Times for 13 14  is  140 no new inning. Chip 140 no new inning.

 

Time for 15 U is 140 no new inning Saturday. Sunday elimination is 140 no new.Championship is 150 no new inning.

Times for 16 u are 145 no new inning. Championships are 150 no new inning, run rule or 7 innings.

Times for just 16U /17 are 145 no new inning Saturday. Championship and elimination are 150 no new inning.

Times for 17/18 U are 1 hour and 50 minutes for no new inning on Saturday.Elimination games are 150 no new inning.Championship is 7 innings , 2 hours or run rule.

 

 

 

 

13 U is bbcor drop 3  in Spring.  Usaa drop 5 max,and Bbcor drop 3 in fall for 13 U. 

14 and 15 is BBcor drop 3.

16 17 18 are Only Wood as of 2023.

Chip games are 7 innings or 15 12  10  8 . No new inning after 1 hours 50 minutes.

On a forfeit it is a 7-0 score.

A DH can be used only to hit for pitcher. When lineup handed in, it will have 10 players. If they DH gets hurt or need to leave the pitcher will

take that spot to bat. No new DH can be added in that game, Plus any pitcher that might come in after will be batting in that spot too.

It must be clearly told to umpires and opposing coach at ground rules.

 

 

Please use players ages as of April 30,2024 for Fall when entering your team in spring of 2024.

 

April 30,2025 for Spring and Summer

 

 If a player is too old and it is proven then the other team gets

Woodbat Tournaments when specified are:

Wood bats only allowed 

No composite wood bats allowed.

Baum Bats are a composite wood bat. Not allowed.

If used an a hit results,when caught or challenged the

batter is out. All runners go back to their bases.

Ages 10 thru 17/18.

 

 

Injuries and game time. If an injury requires medical attention

Or an extended break in the game. The umpires at their discretion

will stop time. They will let both coaches

know individually what the time is when things resume.

 

 

Policy for Tournaments on minimum games.(3)

 

Normal Tournaments with no weather issues or adjustments needed to make Tournament work to the best for everyone is 3 games. If changes are 

needed to be made due to weather 2 games is minimum. (Weather,)No refunds or credits. If you play one pool play game, half credit for what you paid, no refunds. 

That is good for 1 year. Team that is first place after pool play

would be winner if it cannot be completed .If no games

played, credit or refund are your choice.

 

This goes for all ages and formats. If it is a one day Tournament  it is a 2 game minimum. 1 game is credit. 

Of half of what you paid.No refunds. 

 

On weather altered games. For all ages.

In pool play:

3 innings are a complete game . Goes for all ages groups.

If home team is winning they do not need to bat inn 3rd.

All is to get pool play in.
