Drunken Turkey Bowling Tournament 2025

Tournament Payout Information

EXCITING NEWS - Please share with all tournament bowlers!!

A few years ago, our Association was in need of change for tournament payouts.  We consistently heard bowlers discussing the low payouts for tournament winners.

Your current Association Board has worked hard to listen to you and to bring competitive tournaments to our area for our bowlers. We don't always hit the mark when making changes, but the focus on INCREASING TOURNAMENT PAYOUTS has not only hit the mark, but we are exceeding our initial ideas of how increases would look, and how we could accomplish it.

Costs continue to increase for running these tournaments - and the bowlers are paying the increased costs.  Despite the increased expenses, we have dramatically increased payouts for these tournaments!

I was recently comparing numbers from last season to the current tournament season, and I am excited to share the improvements with you! Below are our first three tournaments of this season as compared to our the same tournaments last season.

Tournament Prize Fund payout Total 23/24 Season Prize Fund payout Total 24/25 Season
No Tap $2079 $2516
Scotch Doubles $2356 $4200
Trios $4560 $7011

I pulled another random comparison to see how we have done for a few top payouts.  As an example, in 2018, the GRSUSBC paid the top winner of the Masters Division $500.  In 2024, we paid the top winner $945.  This is just ONE division.  This increase happened across all divisions.

This board cares about the overall Association financial security, and making your tournament experience worth your entry fee.

If you ever have questions about financial reports for tournaments or anything else, just reach out to the Association Manager with questions.  am@grsusbc.com

Information on using Zelle:   If your banking institution has Zelle, it may require you to send all Zelle payments through your banking Zelle, not the purple Zelle app on your phone.  See directions below for how to send money through your banking Zelle:

Use these steps:

  1. Open your personal banking app.  If your bank has Zelle, you will likely have to do it through your bank, not your Zelle app on your phone.
  2. Go to Zelle
  3. Go to Send Money
  4. In your "who to send to" screen, make sure you select "Email" for the contact information (do NOT enter a phone number to send Zelle to the association).
  5. Enter the email address:  am@grsusbc.com
  6. Enter the amount you are sending
  7. Enter a note with the bowlers name, and the event you are paying for
  8. Send the payment

Recommended step:  Save the GRSUSBC in your Banking Zelle as a contact - next time, you can just select the contact and send the money!

If you have tried these steps, and they are not working, send a text message to Wendy Leonard at: 775-772-2244  please include your personal Zelle identifying information (some people have it set up by their cell phone number, some have it set up by their email address.)  I can send you a Zelle transfer request.  Please try the above steps FIRST.  Remember:  we have 2400 bowlers, so using the directions above FIRST will be very helpful to me.   If they don't work, I am happy to help you out!
