Coaches and administrators, 

It's time to start planning for the 2024-25 Kids BB seasons.  All of the necessary information regarding the rules and registering your teams is available on this website.  For new coaches or administrators, I'll be glad to answer any of your questions by phone as needed prior to the registration deadline.  

For the coming season, we will only schedule Rookie League games for 3rd and 4th grade boys and girls.  In the past few years, we haven't had enough demand (schools and kids) to build league schedules for Grades 5-8.  If you have multiple teams or lots of players at those levels, the Diocesan organizers for the competitive levels can accommodate additional teams for your school. 

Our team registration forms and league rules for all leagues are available under the "Forms" prompt, shown as  "Handouts" on our website. Please download, read, and print these forms.  

Rosters are not required for our leagues.  We simply need a Team Registration Form for each team from the school.  Forms are due to me by Friday, November 15, 2024.  The form(s) can either be mailed to my home address, or emailed.  Both addresses are shown at the bottom of the form.   For anyone who emails me with forms, please send a check to my home address.

Due to the high cost of officials fees, we are no longer requiring a PIAA certified official for our games.  While it is recommended, it is no longer a requirement.  All we ask for this level is for each game to be officiated by an adult who understands both the rules of the game, and the teaching approach for the players at this level.  Hopefully, the cost savings of this change will help our schools offer an affordable program for the students.

Finally, if you are not coaching in our league this season, thank you for your past participation. To remove your name from our distribution list, you can email me, and I'll do so.  Please share this information with the new or appropriate person at your school so that they can participate.

Kids BB exists to serve the Catholic Schools, primarily in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh.  Our parish schools field  teams comprised of student/athletes from 3rd grade and 4th grade for both boys and girls.  We call these our Rookie Leagues, and they are available for players who are new to basketball, generally in the 3rd or 4th grade.  Our season normally runs for 12 weeks, from early December to early March.
