Hawks Win Game One
After almost 2 calendar years, the Hawks snapped a 34 game losing streak to beat Olympic up in Bremerton 50-42 on Tuesday night. The Hawks were led by junior guard, Makiah Wilbourn who poured in 13 points, 7 steals, along with 3 assists and went 6 for 6 from the free throw line. Freshman guard, Mya Armstrong put in 12 of her own along with 5 steals and 3 rebounds. Sophomore post, Destiny Robinson had 8 rebounds, 4 steals and our only block of the night. Senior forward, Tiffany Castleberry had 8 points along with 3 rebounds. Senior point guard, Jasmeen Kaur had 6 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 assists. Junior guard, Jada Flynn had 6 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. The young and inexperienced Hawks controlled the whole game from the tip to the horn with their aggressive defense. They are back in action again Thursday night at Black Hills @ 7:00.
The girls had a great start to the 2023-24 season by playing in a few tournaments this past summer along with 3 weeks of practice and a month of open gyms. Very excited to get after it in November.
Go Hawks!
