DID YOU KNOW??

Softball was invented as an indoor recreation in Chicago in 1887 by George Hancock, a newspaper reporter.  It was also called Kitten Ball and Pumpkin ball when softball was reinvented as an outdoor game.  "Softball" didn't get it's name until 1926!   Softball became an Olympic sport in 1996 and every game was SOLD OUT; however 2008 was the last time softball appeared in the Olympics.

Great news - Softball will return this year, 2020 in Tokyo Olympic games!!

Background Consent Form

There is a background check process by which will be administered by Henry County Parks and Recreation. Any and all individuals that interact with the children in Henry County Parks and Recreation programs are required to complete the background check process.  This process became effective on Tuesday, 6 July, 2010.
