A note from the Commissioner:

I want to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who helped support each child that participated in the Merillon Classic Baseball League this year. Your support starts at home, continues through the car rides, and beyond the final out of the last inning. Whether it was through your active coaching, giving your child an "atta boy" or "atta girl" moment of encouragement, or simply giving them the thumbs up through the fence, every moment mattered to these kids. Learning this game is tough and I am proud to run a league (with plenty of assistance, of course) that encourages the learning process of not only how to play baseball, but how to grow up.

In 2024, there were 38 teams that participated in the league over the summer and fall seasons. I'm proud that we can consistently provide an active learning environment and a place for kids to play baseball. In many cases, this is their only opportunity to do so. I look forward to 2025 and hope more teams can join our great program. I wish you and your families a healthy and happy holiday season!

We provide a place for children of all skill levels to play the wonderful game of baseball.  We take great pride in providing this community based service. 

All teams must be registered no later than Friday, August 23rd, 2024. No travel teams!

This is an INTRAMURAL league for open registration teams that do not require a tryout to sign up.  No travel teams.  

Age groups will be 8U (7-8 year olds), 10U (9-10 year olds), 12U (11-12 year olds).  All divisions will be age as of 8/31/2024

All divisions and age groups will play 60 foot bases.

All divisions will have 8 games in all with no playoffs. All teams will have to provide 4 home field dates.  Summer season begins on 7/8 and runs to about 8/11 weather permitting. Summer games are scheduled on weeknights only.  Weekends will be used for rain dates or in the event both teams agree.  Fall season begins on 9/9 an runs to about 11/9 weather permitting.  Fall games are scheduled on weekends or Friday nights for teams with lighted fields.

Awards will be given out to the first place team in each division only (up to 15 max per team). Must complete at least 7 games to be eligible.  
League will provide umpires which will be included in the price of registration.
Price for all divisions will be $625 per team.

Also, each participating league must carry general liability insurance (minimum policy limit of $1 million) with the “Merillon Sports Association” named as an additional insured.  

Legal Lineup: you must have at least 8 players to have a legal lineup, if you have less than 8 and want to borrow players from other team in order to play a scrimmage, please do so, however a 6-0 forfeit win will be awarded to the other team.

There is a hard deadline for schedule changes. After the deadline, only weather-related postponements will be rescheduled. Games scheduled before this deadline cannot be rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice.  If you cannot field a team and notice is less than 24 hours the opposing team will be credited with a forfeit win.

Rain out procedures:

The host team (not necessarily the home team) is responsible to check their field before a game.

If you need to cancel a game due to field conditions or weather you must contact our umpire in chief, Chris Marcic directly. chrism@msasportsny.org 516-456-1592.  Make sure to call or text for cancellations the day of the game.  This must be done at least 2 hours before scheduled first pitch or there will be a travel surcharge of $xx billed to your Little League organization.

If you are postponing, you must contact your opposing coach first, agree on a new date, then fill out the change request form. Do not fill out a change request form for this until you have agreed on a new date. Your game is not officially rescheduled until you receive confirmation from a Merillon Classic Administrator.

Tie breaker rules for Classic will be as follows:

Standing will be based on winning percentages and ties count.
1.Fewest runs allowed season. (if teams tied played different number of games, then it will be the fewest runs per game average)
2.Head to head game results. (only applies if all tied teams have played each other)
3.Fewest runs allowed in head to head games. (only applies if all tied teams have played each other)
4.Run differential for season.
5.Coin flip.

Awards given out to first place only (max of 15 per team)
Teams must complete 7 games to be eligible.

To request a schedule change: check full league schedule first for field availability, then check with your local club for an open field, then confirm with opposing coach, then fill out SCHEDULE CHANGE REQUEST FORM: 2024 SCHEDULE REQUEST FORM

No schedule change requests will be honored after 7/14/24 for summer league and 9/15/2024 for fall league except for rainouts.  NO EXCEPTIONS
