The Travel program is for players who participated in the regular MCYA spring season and are looking to play
baseball at a higher competitive level during the summer months. These elite players of the MCYA get to match their skills against the best players and teams of Suffolk County.
The League will field teams in each 11 age groups beginning with the 8 year olds. Tryouts are conducted during the fall/spring season and teams are selected based on results of skill evaluations, manager recommendations and player rankings. The teams will play in tournaments and leagues beginning in late March/June through mid to late August. Each team will play anywhere from 15 to 30 games depending on the number of tournaments a team enters and on the success of a team in reaching the playoffs in specific tournaments and leagues. Managers and coaches are responsible for selecting the tournaments that they wish to enter.This is a highly competitive program whose goal is to prepare the players to graduate to high school and college baseball programs
