ML Gators is nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, as well as a registered AAU program. ML Gators mission is to educate female student athletes using the game of basketball. The primary focus is player/person development along with school/college placement. The goal is to get all our athletes into college with a chance to compete on the collegiate level and to graduate with the least amount of debt as possible. The organization will do it's best to match its student athletes with high schools and/or colleges that fit them best.

The organization serves both middle school and high school aged girls. ML Gators focus is on skill development, high school and college placement. The organization uses a referral process from neighboring middle school and high school coaches. ML Gators host several tournaments for both middle school and high school girls such as: JHS Jamboree (grades 5-8), Junior Varsity Shootout (grades 9-10), Thanksgiving Classic as well as the Holiday Festival for girls High School Varsity teams (grades 9-12). These tournaments also aids in increasing the organization's awareness.

Basketball Tournaments: JHS, JV & Varsity Divisions

JHS Division:

1) Jamboree

Jamboree serves as a vehicle to help the young ladies improve their skills, receive valuable experience on the court and have some fun in a high school environment. The staff consists of members of the Lab Museum United Girls Varsity Basketball team that are there to assist the girls in the following ways: (1) taking them to the locker room (2) doing the table (3) offering refreshments (4) serving as role models because most of them are there supporting their alma mater. The Varsity Jamboree are for girls in grades 7th & 8th and the JV Jamboree are for girls in grades 5th, 6th & 7th. The girls play two 20 minute games versus girls outside of their league. Teams vary from Independent to District 2 to CYO Manhattan, Bronx and Brooklyn teams as well MSBL (Middle School Basketball League). The Jamboree is a great way to kick off the Middle School season because it provides the teams the opportunity to scrimmage and try new things. All teams receive a trophy and all kids receive a t-shirt. This format takes the emphasis off winning and puts more focus on developing and having fun.
