The 2023 Season is set to begin on June 1st.  The schedule has been uploaded in the schedule tab on the website.  As of right now, all games will be played at the Holland Patent Legion Field as the renovations at the Prospect Field are not complete at this time.  

2022 League Playoff Final series will be United Fitness vs Northern Merchants.

The schedule for the 2022 Season has been uploaded and is available for view.  There are 5 teams participating this year.  

On Monday night, the Northern Merchants captured their 3rd consecutive league title defeating Roberts Post in the championship series 2 games to none.  With the 2021 season complete, 2022 hopes to bring a return to the prospect field with the renovations hopefully complete by then, and with it the hopes of the return of the prospect tournament (dates to be determined).  

The 2021 finals are set. Beginning on Wednesday 8/25 the Northern Merchants will take on Roberts Post. Northern got to the finals by beating 16 Stone 2 games to zero. Roberts Post punched their ticket beating United Fitness 2 games to zero in dramatic fashion with a walk off win this past Thursday. The finals schedule is as follows with all games played in Holland Patent at 8 pm:

Playoff action began on Thursday with the Northern Merchants taking game one. Action continues this week with games Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday with games in Holland Patent.

Due to unforeseen circumstances forestport has had to drop out of the playoffs. Game 1 of the best of three series between northern and 16 stone will be played tonight at 8 pm in Holland patent. The rest of the playoff schedule will be set tonight and the rest of the playoff schedule will be posted here when it is finalized.

The 2021 playoffs are set to begin on Thursday with a doubleheader. At 7 pm Roberts Post and Prospect will begin their best 2 out of 3 series with the winner advancing to take on the 1 seed. At 8:30 Northern and Forestport will play to determine the 1 seed. The rest of the playoff schedule will be set after the 1 seed is determined and will be posted here on the website. 

The Wolcott Brothers Memorial Fastpitch Tournament will be played this weekend at the Dutch Hill Ball Field in Forestport.  Games will begin on Friday night at 8 pm and continue thru to the final on Sunday at 4 pm.

Tonight’s game in HP is cancelled because the HP girls are the 1 seed hosting a quarterfinal game. Go watch them! Undefeated and looking for a sectional title with 2 former players leading the way

The 2021 Northern League Men's Fastpitch season is set to kick off on June 4th with games in Forestport and Holland Patent.  This years league will return to 5 teams: The defending champion Northern Merchants managed by Wayne Haver, Forestport A's run by Rick Ritter, Roberts Post managed by Justin Zacek, United Fitness run by Kevin Quesnell, and 16 Stone (Prospect) with Chris Williams at the helm.  Games will be played in Forestport and Holland Patent this year while the renovations to the Prospect field continue.  The annual Wolcott Brothers tournament will be held at Dutch Hill Field in Forestport over Father's Day Weekend (June 18-20).

The 2020 playoffs will begin on Monday August 24th. The game schedule is below. Also there are some talks about a labor weekend tourney in holland patent. News will be posted here as we get closer.

The 2020 season will begin on July 14th.  This years season will consist of 4 teams competing in a 9 game regular season.  All games will be played in Holland Patent this season.  The schedule has been updated in the schedules tab on the webiste.  Please be advised that all social distancing guidelines must be adhered to.  Please ensure that you are social distancing while at the field and take precautions when social distancing cannot happen.  Thank you and see you at the field soon.  

It is with deepest regret that we report that the prospect Labor Day tournament will not be held this year due to a lack of teams. The hope is that the Tournament will be back next year (possibly with a new weekend). The bill deck and Dennis Zacek awards will be presented after the league championship game on Friday night at 8 pm in prospect. 

Please be advised the championship series Game 3 is rained out tonight and is rescheduled for Friday night at 8 pm in prospect. 

The northern league playoffs will begin tonight (Wednesday August 14th) with murphys hosting prospect in prospect at 8 pm.  The winner will advance to play a best of 3 against the northern merchants beginning Friday night in prospect and continuing Monday and tuesday night. 

In the other series Roberts Post (lost the coin flip with northern) will host forestport on Friday night in Holland patent. The series will continue Monday night in forestport and Tuesday if needed in Holland patent.

The championship series will begin on Thursday August 22nd and continue on August 27 and 28 Locations to be determined.

Due to the high school softball sectionals the 2019 league opening game on Tuesday night is postponed and will be rescheduled. The season will open Thursday night in Holland Patent with Murphy’s Excavating taking on Roberts Post.

Annual Wolcott Brothers Memorial Fast Pitch Softball Tournament

 The  Annual Wolcott Brothers Memorial Fast Pitch Softball will be held on  June 16 and 17 at the Dutch Hill Field in Forestport. Other Teams in the Tournament entered to date: FAA, Northern Merchants, Lewis County Merchants, Lewis County Crossroad Bucks and Oswego Thunder.

Rick “Scooter” Wolcott and his brother Bob “Baxter” Wolcott began their long association with fast pitch softball at the Dutch Hill field when they were teens. Scooter’s passion for the game brought him back to fast pitch softball at the same field - as a Coach and Manager of Scooter’s Team, now known as the Forestport Athletic Association and in its twelfth season. Rick “Scooter” Wolcott passed away on January 24, 2012 and Bob passed away April 11, 2015. There is a special thank you to Carl Lighthall and his family for preparing the Chicken BBQ. In addition, a new Sponsor Sign was placed on the fence to thank the long-time support of DeSantis Meat Market and Deli.

The Wolcott family thanks the generous contribution from DeSantis Meat Market and Deli, the Tavern on the Gorge, the American Legion Girls’ Team, Scooter’s, White Lake Inn and the Forestport Athletic Association, and the members of the Wolcott family for all their support for this annual event.

All proceeds benefit the Forestport Athletic Association’s Youth Ball programs at Dutch Hill Forestport Ball Field.

The 2017 Prospect Tournament concluded last night with Roberts Post outlasting Forestport 5-4 in the final. Roberts Post reached the final by defeating Forestport in the winners bracket final 4-0. Forestport earned their way back to the final by defeating the Northern Merchants 7-4.

The games scheduled for today in the prospect tournament have been postponed until Monday. Games will begin at 10 am With the final set to go off around 5 pm.

Forestport A's scored 4 runs in the top of the 7th inning and held off Roberts Post 161 to claim the 2017 league championship.

Jody Ritter earned the victory on the mound for Forestport.

Karl Martin hit 2 solo homeruns for Forestport.

Down 5-3 going into the 7th,Steven Falk hit a lead off homer.

 A walk,single and double tied the game. 

2 more singles made the score 7-5.

Brian Wall passed away on Sunday October 16, 2016 after a short illness.

Brian was a pitcher in the Northern Fastpitch League for 20+ years and was known as a fiery competitor - whether he was playing softball or coaching local high school basketball teams (Remsen, Holland Patent, Poland).

As the owner/operator of Van's Tavern in Barneveld for 43 years, he supported several Northern League teams including Vans Tavern, Adi-Vans, Vans-Halpins, and Northern Merchants.

In 2003, the league recognized Brian's contributions to the game of fastpitch by awarding him the Bill Deck Award.

The Forestport A's and Northern Merchants have advanced to the 2016 Northern Fastpitch League Finals.

Forestport defeated Roberts Post in 2 games to advance, and Northern beat Accelerate in 2 games.

The Finals schedule is:

Game 1 - Thursday Aug 25  - 8:00pm in Prospect

Game 2 - Tuesday Aug 30 - 8:00pm in Forestport

Game 3 - Wednesday Aug 31 - 8:00pm in Prospect (if needed)

The regular season is complete and the 2016 Playoffs begin next week.

This year's format, the top 2 teams receive a first round bye. Round 1 will be seeds 3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5 in single games. The winners advance to play the top 2 teams in a best of 3 semi-finals. The Championship Series with also be a best of 3.

Northern Merchants are the 1 Seed with a 14-3 record.

Roberts Post and Forestport both finished 12-5, but Roberts beat Forestport 2 games to 1 in head to head play and is the 2 seed by tie break.

Wednesday August 17 Forestport A's (#3) will host Prospect (#6) in FORESTPORT at 8:15pm

Wednesday Aug 17 Murphy Excavating (#4) will be home vs Accelerate Sports (#5) In PROSPECT at 8:15pm

Game #1 of both semi-final series is scheduled for Thursday August 18. The Merchants will host a game at 8:00 in Prospect and Roberts will host an 8:00 game in Holland Patent.  Game #2 for both series will be Monday August 22nd and the if-needed Game 3 will be Tuesday August 23.

Wolcott Brothers Memorial Fast Pitch Softball Tournament

The Northern Merchants/Accelerate Sports team captured the 2016 tournament title on Sunday defeating Lewis County Merchants in the Championship game by a score of 11-3.

Lewis County won Pool A on Saturday with a 2-0 record defeating Forestport A's and Murphy Excavating.

Northern/Accelerate won Pool B - beating Oswego and Ausable on Saturday.

In Sunday's games, Lewis County defeated Ausable to advance to the Championship Game, while Northern/Accelerate defeated Murphy Excavating in their semifinal game.

The Annual Wolcott Brothers Memorial Fast Pitch Softball Tournament - Father's Day Weekend - June 18 & 19 - Dutch Hill Field, Forestport, New York Rick "Scooter" Wolcott and Bob "Baxter" Wolcott began their long association with fast pitch softball at the Dutch Hill field when they were young teens. The Scooter's Fast Pitch Team is now sponsored by the Forestport Athletic Association and has returned to its original name of the Forestport Athletics and wears the original green, gold and white colors. The Forestport Athletics Fast Pitch Team is managed by Rick Ritter and Justin "Chunk" Witzigman.

The Annual Wolcott Brothers Memorial Tournament was formerly known as the Scooter Memorial Tournament and is now in its fifth year at the Dutch Hill Field. The Tournament is organized by members of the Wolcott Family, Americo Ventiquattro's Ball Team from Boonville and with community assistance.

2016 Golf Tournament

The 2016 Golf Tournament was a huge success with 104 golfers enjoying a beautiful sunny day.

The team of Greg Haver, Matt Cochan, Jim Humphries, and Josh Begaya netted the low score of the day with a 12-under 56.
