Rutherford defeats Carlstadt/East Rutherford to win the 13 year old District 4 Tournament.

Rutherford advances to the State Tournament hosted by Monroe Township on Friday July 5.

#3 seed Wood-Ridge Graycliff defeated #1 seed Wood-Ridge Segovias 7-1 to capture the 2019 National League Championship.

HH Fire captures the 2021 title winning their last 11 games.     

Fire finished second in the standings at 12-2 securing a first round bye. 

They played a second round nail biter with Bill O’Shea’s winning 5-4 with the winning run scored by Frankie Billings on a 7th inning sacrifice fly by Mike Quimbayo.

Heights moved on to the championship round against East Rutherford. The game was 1-1 for a while until Fire jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the 6th led by a Billings lead off double. Mike Quimbayo, Fiant and Joe Stevens’ timely hitting and aggressive baserunning did the rest.

The pitching of Gavin Fiant was the main reason Heights captured the crown. He pitched a complete game,  allowing  only one hit with 12 strikeouts and struck out the last three batters he faced.

Solid pitching, timely hitting and aggressive base running are the hallmark of this gritty ballclub. The title wasn’t their main focus early in the season but they lost a one run game against the #1 seed East Rutherford and thought maybe it was possible. “Play hard, play smart and you never know” is the motto of the coaching staff. Other members of the team that played a vital role in it’s success are Dan Wixon, Neal Donnelly, Brendan Traverso, Charlie Stevens,  Kyle Von Sydleman and the big lefty Zack Dato. The coaching staff consisted of Frank Connolly, Kevin Cappadona and Glenn Fiant.

The C/ER Dodgers defeated the Rochelle Park Royals 6-5 to capture the 2019 13 year old Pioneer League Championship.
