New ASA SlowPitch softball site
Due to technicial difficulties the original "www.paasasp.com" has been shut down. This will be the new site going forward. This site will contain a lot of the same info as before. This includes the dates for Pa. ASA/USA Slowpitch Softball Championship tournaments. The state slowpitch committee will also post updates to rules such as home limits for Men's class E, D2, D1/C classifications that will be used at men's slowpitch states. This site will also have the " Individual Players Classification Database". This site is not the meant to take the place of your ASA District Commissioner. When in doubt contact your local commissioner with questions.
How to find Player Classifications
By clicking on the "TEAMS/ROSTER" tab this will take to the player database. The players are listed alphabetically by their LAST name. We are still in the process of downloading players so please be patient. By clicking on a players name it will display blank spot for a players picture and then to the right it will say "Position". This will be the players Classification, E, D2, D1, etc. When a players class has the symbol (+) or (++) behind it this doesn't change the players class. This symbol is for the classification committee to be able to track players that have recently had their classification moved up or down for numerous reasons. This only applies to "State Championship Play" as in districts and states. These symbols have no bearing on local "Invitational / league Toutnaments". Any questions should be directed to your District Commissioner.
*** When a player has multiple classes listed under his name ( E, D2 , D1, etc. ) this means there are several players in the "Player Database" that have the same first and last name. When this happens a player or his coach get clairification from his District Commissioner or any member of the ASA Slowpitch Committee. NEVER assume your are the lower class.

Player Bump-ups from States
Teams that do extremely well at states get moved up to the next class the following year. Usually the move consists of the top 4 finishing teams being moved up depending on the number of teams at the state tournament. Roster players and "Pickup Players" are also moved up in classification. A player will not be bumped 2 classes in 1 year. A player bump up will be based on intial team they play for.
Top 4 Class E teams to Class D2
Top 4 Class D2 teams to D1
Top 2 Class D1 teams to D1+. ( The past 2-3 years only 2 teams were moved due to smaller tournament)
TEAMS INDIVIDUAL PLAYER MOVES
Class E team players moved to D2+ ( This includes Pickup players) , Class D2 players moved to D2++
Class D2 team players moved per individual class: Class E to D2+, Class D2 to D1+, Class D1 to D1+.( This also applies to pickup players)
Class D1 team players moved per individual class: (same as stated above) Exception Class D1++ players retain (++)
Over the past 10 years the Class C program has declined to the point that there has been no Class C states for several years. The men's SlowPitch Committee has always strived to have a program that provides an opportunity for all levels of players to be able to compete. With the number of Class C players continuing to drop each year the ability to have a C State championship tournament was no more. In 2022 Our committee joined together the Class D1 & C teams into 1 tournament. There were a few bumps along the way but it was successful. This year we are eliminating the "Class C" ranking for teams and individuals and moving all of those players to Class D1. Some players will retain (+)(++) based on past finishes at states and District Commissioners input. This is an ongoing process so PLEASE be patient. More info to follow.
