Portage Girls Softball is a nonprofit association whose mission is to promote, develop, supervise and voluntarily assist in all lawful ways, the interest of our participants. We will strive to instill in the youths of the community the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, and a sense of teamwork so that they may be strong, healthy, well-adjusted members of the community.


BACKGROUND CHECK INFORMATION

BACKGROUND CHECKS - MUST HAVE BG CHECK CARD OR COPY ON HAND WITH ROSTERS AND BIRTH CERTIFICATES

Background checks are processed through RegisterUSASoftball.com. They are $14 for 1 year. If you already have a background check through USA Softball you do not need another, but you do need to provide PGS with proof of that completed background check (picture of the ID card).

New coaches to PGS will need to register for a USA softball background check. Step-by-step instructions are here.

 

 

 

 


CONCUSSION CERTIFICATION

Complete the hour-long courses that is free. The online courses is valid for three years. Each Coach is required to print and submit a concussion certificate.

The National Federation of State High School Associations’ training program “Concussion in Sports”

Certificates dated 2018 or older must be retaken for the 2021 season.
