 Prep & Junior Legion Tryouts were held on Sunday August 18, 2024 at Spaulding Park  

Senior Legion Tryouts will be held on Sunday August 25, 2024 at Rantoul Wabash Park at 1pm

Senior:   all of Champaign, Piatt, Ford and Iroquois Counties and possibly some adjacent counties

 PREP LEGION covers players who will finish 6th or 7th or 8th grade in May, 2025.  Players from Champaign, Urbana, Mahomet & Savoy must be born before 9/1/12.  Players outside Champaign-Mahomet-Savoy must be born in 2012 or earlier.  Fees for Prep Legion will be $185** at time of tryouts (checks payable to American Legion Baseball) and the balance of $185 in February, 2025. 

 Prep Legion begins indoor practice in February and outdoor practice in April.   Games usually start early May and run through mid July.  Typically their schedule includes about 20-30 games with about two mid-week games per week and about two weekend doubleheaders/tournaments per month.  We plan to play in a doubleheader league once per week in Charleston, in order to get tougher competition for our Prep teams.  All of their games would normally be within 75 miles of Champaign. 

 JUNIOR LEGION covers those in high school for the 2024-2025 school year and born in the year of 2008, 2009 or 2010.     Junior Legion will practice once or twice per week.  Junior Legion schedule will include 30-35 games with 5-7 games per week.  All of their games are played in late May, June, July & sometimes early August (after the high school baseball season is completed) and will generally be within 90 miles of Champaign.  Fees for Junior Legion will be $235** at time of tryouts (checks payable to American Legion Baseball) and the balance of $235 due in February, 2025.  Junior Legion team for 2025 will be a Champaign-Urbana area team hosted by Champaign American Legion.   

 SENIOR LEGION covers those in Junior or Senior year in high school during 2024-2025 school year (born 2006 or later) and those who graduated in 2024 with a birthdate in 2006 or later.  Senior Legion team for 2025 will be a Champaign/Ford/Piatt County team hosted by Rantoul American Legion.  Senior Legion schedule will include 25 - 35 games with 4-7 games per week.  All of their games are played in June July and early August (after the high school season is completed).  Games are generally within 90 miles of Rantoul, but one overnight tournament may be played.  Fees for Senior Legion will be $225** at time of tryouts (checks payable to American Legion Baseball) and the balance of $225 due in February, 2025.   

 **   Fees will be returned to anyone who is not selected at the tryouts.  All other fees are non-refundable except for injuries that prevent participation during the entire 2025 season or for a permanent family move of more than 90 miles from Champaign.
