The dates for the 2024 Sarasota Cal Ripken Classic will be May 25-26, 2024. (Memorial Day Weekend) Please plan in advance and reserve your hotel rooms as soon as you can. Download a 2024 Registration Form under "Forms" and mail it in with a check for your entry fee AND the prepaid gate fee as soon as you can to reserve your team's spot. We will sell out again!!

Check Here For Tournament Updates: Thank you all for an absolutely great weekend of Baseball. The competition in the 11th year of this tournament was as strong as I've ever seen. I know that the District and State Tournaments will be a dog fight and who ever is crowned as Florida State Champions will have a great chance of winning the Southeastern Regional Tournament and advancing to the World Series if their age group hosts one. 2020 Sarasota Cal Ripken All-Star Classic
The dates are set for the 8th Annual Sarasota Cal Ripken Classic in 2020. We will play on May 30th & 31st this year. Plan ahead and register early to guarantee your team's spot. Each team must download and submit a registration form with the Manager's contact info along with payment.
COVID-19 Update: Sarasota County has decided to extend the closure of all fields until June 1st. Unfortunately, we are going to have to cancel the Sarasota Cal Ripken Classic this year. Hopefully we all will be back on the fields soon and can salvage a few games and possibly the all-star tournaments. Good luck to any teams that are able to compete this Summer and we´ll see your all-star teams at next year´s Classic.

2019 Sarasota Cal Ripken All-Star Classic
7/09/19 Update - All of our all-stars have completed their District/Qualifier Tournaments and most have finished their State Tournaments. We had an amazing 49 teams that competed in the Sarasota Cal Ripken Classic win their District or Qualifier Tournament and move on to the State Tournament in their age bracket. We have also had (4) STATE CHAMPIONS so far. Congratulations to Okeeheelee T-ball B, Sarasota Rookie A, Winter Springs Rookie B, and the 9U Okeeheelee teams for being crowned State Champions. Please see the list of teams below for updates on which teams won their tournaments after competing in the Sarasota Cal Ripken Classic. If I missed your team, please let me know. 8/15/18 Update: Our Summer of baseball is over. Unfortunately we didn't have a World Series winner again this year, but the 9U squad from Palm Beach Gardens finished in 3rd place and the 11U squad from Citrus Park finished in 4th place. Congrats to both of these teams and all of our 2018 All-Stars. See you in 2019!!
7/16/18 Update: All the State Tournaments are complete and I'm pleased to announce that we had (3) more State Champions and also (3) State Runner-ups. 10U Lutz Cal Ripken, 12U Citrus Park Cal Ripken, and 15U Fishhawk Babe Ruth were the State Runner-ups. All (3) of our State Champions will go straight to the Inaugural World Series in their respective divisions since Florida is hosting the WS. Our first State Champion was the 9U Palm Beach Gardens team. The other (2) State Champions were the 11U Oakleaf Cal Ripken and the 11U Citrus Park Cal Ripken teams. Oakleaf won the North State Championship and Citrus Park won the South State Championship giving us a monopoly on the 11U Division in Florida. The most amazing stat for this update is that the 11U Oakleaf team had to win (5) consecutive elimination games to claim the State Championship after getting put into the loser's bracket early in the tournament. That never give up attitude will serve them well in the WS. Congratulations to all the teams that participated in the State Tournaments and good luck to all the teams at the S.E. Regional Tournaments and the World Series.
7/05/18 Update: Most of our teams have completed their District/Qualifier Tournaments and once again, many of them are moving on. At last count, there were 38 teams that won their District/Qualifier Tournaments to move on to the next round. T-Ball and Rookies have completed their State Tournaments and we had (2) State Champions. Congratulations to FT. Caroline Rookie A for winning back to back State Championships and also to Okeeheelee Rookie B for winning their State Championship. Oviedo Rookie B was the Runner-up in the State tournament as well. Good luck to the older boys that won their District Titles as they get ready to compete for a State Championship this weekend. Hopefully there will be more State Champions next update.

2016 Sarasota Cal Ripken All-Star Classic
Thank you all for playing in the Sarasota Cal Ripken Classic. Good luck this summer as you represent your leagues in all-stars.
8/20/16 UPDATE - The World Series is over and unfortunately I can't report that we have another WS Champion this Summer. In the 10U WS, Longwood ran into some stiff competition and was unable to make it out of their pool. The Palm Beach Garden squad did a little better and was able to advance out of their pool and make it to single elimination. There they finished 5th overall. Nice job by both of these 10U squads!! If we had to name the best team from the 2016 Sarasota Cal Ripken Classic, I guess that it would go out to the 13U Sarasota Babe Ruth All-stars. The boys from Sarasota went to Iowa to represent the Southeast Region in the WS and played some great baseball. After advancing out of their pool with only 1 loss, they won their 1st elimination game before loosing to a loaded squad from Hawaii in the semi-finals. They ended up placing 3rd in the WS. Great job!! Thank you all once again for playing in the 2016 Classic and I'm already looking forward to seeing you all in 2017.
8/01/16 UPDATE - The Southeast Regional Tournaments have ended and we once again have had a strong showing. The 8U Rookie Division had 3 teams participating in the 16 team tournament and all 3 teams advanced out of their pools and into the Elite 8 single elimination bracket. There, N. Brandon placed 5th, S. Lakeland placed 3rd, and Fossil Park placed 2nd after a tough 4-2 loss in the Championship Game to perennial powerhouse W. Raleigh, NC. If it wasn't for W. Raleigh, the Championship game would have been Fossil Park vs S. Lakeland as they were the only team to give either of the Florida teams a loss during the entire tournament. In the 13U division, State Champ Sarasota only had to travel to Orlando to take care of business. After a tough loss in their first game, they fought hard to take runner-up in their pool and advance to the single elimination bracket. They then found their gloves and played some strong defense to make it into the Championship Game where they avenged their earlier loss to win the Regional Championship. Off to the World Series in Iowa they go!! So 2 months after the classic we still have 3 teams playing ball and fighting for a World Series title. The 10U Palm Beach Gardens team is hosting the WS where the 10U State Champs out of Longwood will also be trying to capture the crown and the 13U Sarasota squad will be competing in Iowa. Wish them luck and hopefully the next update will be about 2 World Series Champions
7/19/16 UPDATE - As I do each summer, I followed the teams that played in the Classic to see how they performed in their Qualifier/District Tournaments. It was another strong performance for the teams that started their summer in Sarasota. We had (36) teams advance past their Qualifier/District Tournaments and represent their Districts in the State Tournament where (2) teams placed 3rd, (4) teams were State Runners-up, and (5) teams were crowned STATE CHAMPIONS. Good luck to our State Champs as they participate in the S.E. Regional Tournaments and a special good luck goes out to the 10U Longwood All-stars as they advance straight to the Cal Ripken World Series where they will run into the host team from Palm Beach Gardens who also participated in the Classic. Good Luck to Palm Beach as well. We have had a representative from the Classic in the 10U World Series in 3 of the 4 years the tournament has been held including last year's CHAMPIONS from Manatee Cal Ripken.

Thank you all for a fantastic weekend of baseball and good luck as you enter your district and qualifier tournaments. I'll be following you all as you progress throughout the summer. We hope to see you again next year!!

UPDATE: Manatee Cal Ripken Wins 10U World Series
It was a long summer for the boys from Manatee, but it all payed off with a dominating performance in the Cal Ripken 10U World Series. Manatee went 4-0 in pool play scoring 40 runs while giving up a measly 13 runs. This was good enough for the #1 seed and a first round bye in the elimination bracket. The boys stayed loose and continued to roll after the off day. They won their semi-final game 8-4 to reach the Championship game against the host team from Jonesboro, Arkansas. Then, in front of their hometown and on their own field, Manatee proceeded to put the beatdown on them and captured the 2015 Cal Ripken World Series Championship by a score of 15-2. Awesome job Manatee!! Way to represent District 10 and the State of Florida. Proud to say it all started at the 2015 Sarasota Cal Ripken Classic

UPDATE: Cal Ripken Southeastern Regional Results
Our teams that went on to compete in the Cal Ripken S.E. Regional tournaments continued to roll and all made a strong showing including (2) S.E. Regional Championships. In the Rookie machine pitch division, Ocala Rotary Fusion and Northwest St. Pete both won their pools and S. Lakeland was runner-up in their pool. All 3 teams advanced to the elimination bracket where Northwest St Pete placed 5th overall, Ocala Rotary Fusion was 3rd overall, and S. Lakeland ran out of steam in the Championship game against perennial powerhouse West Raleigh to finish as the runner-up. What a great showing by our Rookies. In the 9U division, our only representative was Palm Beach Gardens. This was a strange tournament as the teams played in a double elimination bracket to advance to the Championship instead of the traditional pool play. Palm Beach took a tough loss in their 1st game, but battled back with 3 wins in the losers bracket to place 3rd in their division. In the 10U division, the Manatee all-stars played sleeper in pool play and lost big to powerhouse W.Raleigh, but still managed to advance to the Championship bracket as the #2 seed from their pool. That's where the strategy payed off. Manatee jumped all over #1 seed Atlantic Beach in the semi-final and drubbed them 17-0. The strategy along with the lopsided win allowed Manatee to save much needed pitching for the final. Good thing they did because they played a real tough Glen Allen, Virginia team and it took a shutout to win the Championship by a score of 1-0. Manatee will now represent District 10 in the 10U Cal Ripken World Series. That is 3 out of the last 4 years that District 10 has won the S.E.Regional tournament and went on to the 10U World Series. The 2 previous teams both placed 3rd. We're looking for a World Series Championship this year!!! In the 11U division, East Bay won their pool to advance to the Championship bracket where they continued to roll. It took (3) wins including a beat down over Laurinburg, NC by a score of 13-1 in the Championship game before they were crowned S.E. Regional Champions. Congratulations to all the teams on great summers and lets pull for Manatee to bring the Championship home when they compete in the 10U Cal Ripken World Series.

UPDATE: 2015 All-Star Tournament Results After The Sarasota Classic
I once again followed the teams that participated in this year's Sarasota Cal Ripken Classic as they competed in their Qualifier and District Tournaments. 25 of the 69 Cal Ripken All-star teams advanced past their Qualifier/District Tournaments to represent their programs at the State Tournaments. Outstanding considering many of the teams are from the same District and eliminated one another. These programs went on to win (5) State Championships!! Good Luck to our State Champs as they compete in the upcoming Southeastern Regional Tournaments.

UPDATE: 10U Cal Ripken World Series
The Sarasota Cal Ripken 10U All-Stars kept their amazing Summer going with a very strong showing at the World Series in Virginia. The team placed 3rd out of 10 teams after being eliminated by the eventual World Series Champions from New Jersey. Proud to say this group got their first win of the Summer at the Sarasota Cal Ripken Classic

UPDATE: Cal Ripken Southeastern Regional Results
After a very strong showing in the Florida State Tournaments, our State Champions continued to impress in the Southeastern Regional Tournaments. We had 5 State Champions move on to compete in the Southeastern Regional Tournaments. Palm Beach Garden Rookie "B" won the State Championship, but that is as far as they can go. The other 5 State Champions went on to claim (3) SOUTHEASTERN REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS!! Palm Beach Gardens Rookie "A", Sarasota Cal Ripken 10U, and Bloomingdale Cal Ripken 11U dominated once again. In the 9U division, Manatee Cal Ripken and North Brandon Cal Ripken tied for 3rd place in their regional tournaments. I'm very proud to say that these teams started their runs in Sarasota 2 months ago. For Palm Beach Gardens Rookie "A" and Bloomingdale 11U it's the end of the road with both teams advancing as far as possible. For Sarasota 10U, it's a different story. They now advance to the Cal Ripken 10U World Series in Winchester, Virginia to compete for the World Series title. With a little luck, I'll be posting another update with the news of a World Champion playing in the 2014 Sarasota Classic. Good Luck Sarasota!!

UPDATE: 2014 All-Star Tournament Results After The Sarasota Classic
I followed the Florida Cal Ripken All-Star Tournaments this Summer and the results were outstanding. I'm very proud to say that 19 of the 44 Cal Ripken All-Star teams that participated in this year's Sarasota Classic advanced past their qualifier or district tournaments. This group then went on to win an amazing (6) STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS. In fact, they claimed State Championships in every age group except 12U. I can't wait for the 2015 Sarasota Cal Ripken Classic!
