Spring Break Basketball Camp Registration Deadline Approaching

Players in 4th-8th grades that are interested in attending our annual Spring Break Camp, can find a registration form linked below.  Camp is Saturday, March 24, from Noon-130, and Sunday, March 25, from 1-230.  The two-day camp has a tuition cost of $25 and will focus on both ball-handling and shooting.

Eagles 8th Grade Season Comes To Close In 8A Regional

January 30, 2018

Saunemin’s 8th grade boys basketball season came to an end Monday night following a 47-40, loss to #3 Seed Cornell in the IESA 8A Regional.

The Eagles (6-15) were led by a game-high 24 points from Colten Ketcherside.  Connor Telford pitched in 8 points, Camdyn Friedman added 4, Walker Gerdes scored 3, and Tyson Cramer added a FT, to round out Saunemin’s scoring.

Cornell moves on to play #2 Seed Lexington on Tuesday night at 7:15.  Lexington got past Odell, 33-8, in their Regional opener Monday.

In the first game on Tuesday, #1 Seed Pontiac St. Marys will take on Tri-Point, at 6:00.  The Raiders got past Flanagan in the Monday opener, 34-26.

Winners of Tuesday night games will play for the Regional Championship on Thursday at 6:00 pm.


Eagles Claw There Way Into The Final Four; Joins Pontiac, PC 6th & St. Marys 6th

The Final Four is set for the 28th Annual Coca-Cola Classic Saunemin 5/6 Tournament following quarterfinal games on Wednesday. In Game 1, the host Eagles knocked off Prairie Central’s 5th grade, 37-27. Conner Telford and James Durham both hit double figures, scoring 17 and 12 points respectively. Reed Frazier hit for 6, and Myles Gilliam scored 2 to round out the Eagles scoring. Cody Steidinger scored 13 points to lead the Hawks. Saunemin will play Pontiac’s 6th grade in the first Final Four game on Saturday at 12:30, following Pontiac’s 33-30, win over Tri-Point. Kerr Bauman scored 17 points to lead the Warriors. Tyler read led the Raiders with 13 points. Prairie Central’s 6th grade Hawks took out Corpus Christi’s 5th grade, 35-14, as the defending champs moved into the Final Four. Levi Goad led 10 Hawks in the scoring column with 9 points. Braden Deverman led the Saints with 7 points. The final team to move into the Final Four of the tournament is the St. Marys Saints 6th grade, as they took out Ridgeview, 46-32. Three Saints hit for double figures with Conrad Pfaff scoring 12, and Finan Krenz and Zack Masching each hitting for 11 points. Brec Hoffman scored 13 points to lead the Mustangs. Tournament action continues Thursday night at 7:00 pm, with St. Marys 5th grade taking on Woodland’s 5th grade in a Consolation bracket game.

28th Annual Coca-Cola Classic Kicks Off On Monday; Eagles Roar Back For First Round Win

Day 1 of the 28th Annual Coca-Cola Classic was held on Saturday, January 13, at Saunemin Grade School, with 8 teams advancing into the Championship bracket.

In Game 1, Woodland’s 5th grade knocked off Dwight’s 5th grade Jr. Trojans, 24-19.  Nick Plesko led the Warriors with 10 points.  Owen Dunlap led the Jr. Trojans with 14 points.
 
Pontiac’s 5th graders took Game 2, 30-22, over Woodland’s 6th grade.  Camden Fenton led Pontiac with 12 points.  Payton Quaintance paced Woodland with 8.
 
Flanagan took out Crescent City, 39-34, paced by Chansaye Maxon’s 18 points.  Crescent City was led by Sam Munsterman’s 26 points which was a Day 1, high.
 
Game 4, saw Corpus Christi’s 5th graders knocking off Iroquois West, 27-22.  Braden Degerman led the Saints with 8 points.  Jace Pankey scored 9 to lead IW.
 
Ridgeview ran past Odell, 36-6, in Game 5.  Jaxon Baker led the Mustangs with 14 points.  Chayse Knobbe scored all 6 of the Rams’ points.
 
Prairie Central’s 5th graders defeated St. Marys 5th grade, 43-11.  Hudson Ault tossed in 15 points to lead the Hawks.  Sean Finnegan paced the Saints with 6.
 
The host Eagles roared back from a 12-8, deficit at the half, to knock off Ransom, 34-21.  Conner Telford scored a game-high 21 to lead the Eagles.  James Durham added 10, Myles Gilliam scored 2, and Reed Frazier tossed in a FT to round out Saunemin’s scoring.  Keaton Yedinak led the Pirates with 7 points.
 
In the nightcap, Tri-Point knocked off Mazon, 31-21.  Tyler Read scored 21 to pace the Raiders.  Chase Litwiller led the Mavericks with 13 points.
 
Action continues in the 28th annual event on Monday, January 15th.
 

Eagles 4/5/6 Graders Take Consolation Championship At Odell Tourney

Saunemin’s 4/5/6 graders took the Consolation Championship of the Odell Holiday Tournament on Thursday night, defeating Ransom, 29-10.

The Eagles (6-8) jumped out to an early 9-0, lead after one quarter of play, and took a 19-7, lead into the half.  Saunemin shut out the Pirates in the 3rd, riding a 29-7, lead into the final frame.
 
Reed Frazier led the Eagles with 10 points.  Conner Telford added 8 points, James Durham scored 7, while Myles Gilliam and Timmy Logan each added 2 points.

Eagles 4/5/6 Graders Open Up Play In Odell Holiday Tourney

Saunemin’s 4/5/6 grade Eagles opened up play in the Odell Holiday Tournament, splitting their first two games.

The Eagles let a 9-point lead going into the 4th quarter against Pontiac’s 6th grade slip away, dropping a 30-27, tourney opener.
 
Conner Telford led the Eagles with 14 points.  James Durham and Reed Frazier added 5 points, while Timmy Logan tossed in 2, and Myles Gilliam had a FT.
 
In the Consolation bracket game, the Eagles battled back from a 15-7, halftime deficit to knock off Cornell, 29-28.
 
Telford had a team-high 11 points.  Gilliam scored 6, Frazier and Durham each had 4, while Daniel Hernandez and Brandon Taylor each added 2 points.
 
The Eagles will play for the Consolation Championship on Thursday night at 5 pm.

Eagles 8th Graders Grab Hard-Fought Win Over Woodland; Split 3 Games On Road

December 16, 2017

Saunemin traveled to Woodland on Thursday night for Vermillion Conference games, splitting 3 games with the host Warriors.

In the 4/5/6 grade game, Woodland’s 6th grade ran past the young Eagles, 22-9.

Conner Telford scored 4, James Durham added 3, and Hayden White pitched in 2 points for Saunemin.

The 7th grade Eagles dropped Game #2, 30-27.

Telford led all scorers with 17 points.  Other Eagles on the scoreboard included Tyson Cramer with 5, Timmy Logan with 3, and Preston Jama with 2 points.

In the nightcap, the 8th grade Eagles bounced back from a 32-25, deficit after 3 quarters to claim a 41-38, win.

Colten Ketcherside led all scorers with 23 points on the evening.  Walker Gerdes and Colohun Hagan scored 6, Telford added 3, Camdyn Friedman had 2 points, and Cramer added a FT.

The 7th & 8th grade Eagles are now off for the holiday break.  The 4/5/6 grade Eagles will hold their 2nd Holiday Shootout this Saturday, hosting Gardner’s 5th & 6th grades, Pontiac’s 5th grade, and Cornell.  Saunemin will open up play on Saturday taking on Gardner’s 5th grade at 10 am.  The Eagles will finish the day against Pontiac’s 5th grade at 4:15.


Eagles Grab 3 Wins At Odell

Saunemin traveled to Odell on Tuesday night, taking 3 games from the Rams.

The Eagles opened the night with two one-point wins, as the 4/5/6 grade Eagles took a 21-20, win over the Rams.
 
Conner Telford scored 10 points to lead the Eagles.  Timmy Logan scored 4, James Durham added 3, while Hayden White and Reed Frazier each scored 2 points.
 
Saunemin’s 7th grade held on for a 19-18, win in the 2nd game.  Telford led all scorers with 9 points to lead the visitors.
 
Tyson Cramer added 5 points, Preston Jama pitched in 3, and Logan added the final 2 points for Saunemin.
 
Colohun Hagan and Colten Ketcherside scored 14 and 12 points respectively, leading the Eagles in the 8th grade nightcap, 37-16.
 
Other Eagles in the scorebook were Telford with 5, Walker Gerdes with 4, and Trey Duck with 2 points.
 
The Eagles travel to Woodland on Thursday night.

Eagles 8th Graders Grab First Conference Win Over Grand Ridge

Saunemin hosted Grand Ridge in Vermillion Conference play on Tuesday night with the host Eagles coming away with an 8th grade win.

In the 7th grade contest, the visiting Mohawks left with a 46-29, win after taking a 23-15, lead into the half.
 
Conner Telford dropped in a team-high 22 points.  Preston Jama added 5 points and Tyson Cramer scored 2, to round out the Eagles scoring.
 
The Eagles 8th graders trailed 11-10, at the half but grabbed a 4-point lead after three quarters, 23-19.  Each team scored 9 points in the 4th, as the home squad came away with a 32-29, win.
 
Colten Ketcherside scored 14 points and Colohun Hagan added 11, to lead the Eagles.  Trey Duck scored 4 and Camdyn Friedman added 3 points for Saunemin.
 
The 7th & 8th grade Eagles return to action next Monday when they travel to Odell.

Mazon Grabs 2 Non-Conference Wins Over Eagles

December 4, 2017

Saunemin travelled to Mazon on Monday for Jr. High boys basketball action, dropping two games to the host Mavericks.

Mazon jumped out to a 12-7, lead after one, then blanked the Eagles in the 2nd, leading at the half 20-7.  A 13-5, 3rd Quarter helped put the game away for the Mavs, taking the contest 40-15.
 
Conner Telford led the Eagles with 9 points.  Tyson Cramer tossed in 4 points while Preston Jama and Reed Frazier each added a FT.
 
In the 8th grade contest, Mazon led 5-2, after one and took a 15-14, lead into the half.  The Mavericks would outscore the Eagles by 2 in each of the final two quarters, taking a 34-29, win.
 
Colohun Hagan led the visitors with 11 points on the night.  Colten Ketcherside scored 8, Camdyn Friedman added 5, Telford with 3, and Trey Duck tossed in 2 points to round out the Eagles scoring.
 
Saunemin will host Grand Ridge on Tuesday.

Eagles 4/5/6 Graders Split Games At First December Holiday Shootout

Saunemin’s 4/5/6 grade basketball team hosted the first of two December Shootouts on Saturday with the host Eagles picking up one win.

In the opening contest, Dwight’s 5th grade Jr. Trojans held off the Eagles for a 30-29, win.  Conner Telford led all scorers with 17 points.  Other Eagles in the scorebook were James Durham with 6, Timmy Logan with 4, and Reed Frazier with 2 points.
 
Game #2 had Blue Ridge knocking off Cornell, 34-19.  Dwight’s 5th graders came back and knocked off Blue Ridge in Game #3, 35-27.
 
In the finale, the Eagles took out Cornell, 32-20.
 
Telford again led the Eagles with 10 points.  Myles Gilliam had 5 points, Frazier and Durham with 4, Logan scored 3, while Hayden White, Daniel Hernandez and Hayden Frazier each added 2 points.

Ransom Takes 2 Conference Games Over Eagles

Saunemin travelled to Ransom on Thursday night in Vermillion Conference play with the hosts coming away with 2 wins.

A tight 7th grade game after one quarter with the Pirates up 13-10, ballooned to a 29-10, lead at the half.  The hosts extended their lead to 37-12, after three, and cruised to a 46-14, win.
 
Conner Telford led the Eagles with 7 points.  Reed Frazier scored 4, Timmy Logan added 2, and Tyson Cramer added a FT for the Eagles.
 
In the 8th grade contest, Ransom opened up with an 8-3, lead after one quarter and took a 21-11, lead into the half.  Both teams stepped up their defense in the 3rd with the Pirates outscoring the Eagles 4-2.  Both teams scored 11 in the final frame as Ransom took a 36-24, win.
 
Colohun Hagan led Saunemin with 10 points.  Other Eagles in the scoring column were Colten Ketcherside with 9, Telford with 3, and Walker Gerdes and Camdyn Friedman each with a FT.

Eagles Take 7th Grade Game, Drop 8th vs. Cornell

Saunemin hosted Cornell in Vermillion Conference basketball action Tuesday night with the host Eagles splitting games with the Cougars.

Conner Telford hit for a career-high 30 points, leading the Eagles 7th grade squad to a 42-27, win.  The Eagles led 8-7, after one quarter and took an 18-14, lead into the half.  Telford hit for 13 of the Eagles 15 3rd quarter points as the Eagles grabbed a 33-20 lead going into the fourth.
 
Other Eagles in the scoring column were Reed Frazier with 4, while Hayden White, Timmy Logan, Tyson Cramer and James Durham each hit for 2 points.
 
Second half scoring issues again hurt the Eagles 8th grade after taking a 19-16, lead into the half with the Cougars, Cornell outscored the hosts 13-5, in the 3rd Quarter, and finished off the game with a 12-7, edge in the fourth for a 41-31, win.
 
Colten Ketcherside led the Eagles with 13 points.  Others in the scorebook were Telford with 8, Camdyn Friedman with 6, Walker Gerdes with 2, while Trey Duck and Colohun Hagan each tossed in a FT.
 
The Eagles will travel to Ransom on Thursday night.

Eagles Drop 2 To St. Marys

November 27, 2017
Saunemin traveled to Pontiac St. Marys for Jr. High basketball games on Monday night with the host Saints coming away with 2 wins.
 
In the 7th grade contest, Conner Telford and Tyson Cramer each reached double figures for the Eagles with 13 and 10 points respectively.  Telford’s was a game-high.  Myles Gilliam and Brandon Taylor each pitched in 2 points.
 
The Saints took a 27-15, lead into the half and extended their lead with a 16-8, 3rd Quarter, closing out the game in the 4th with a 54-27, win.
 
A strong 3rd Quarter by the Saints pushed a single-digit halftime lead at 14-9, to a 28-14, lead over the Eagles heading into the final frame, taking a 32-20, win over the guests.
 
Colohun Hagan had a game-high 11 points for the visiting Eagles.  Colton Ketcherside added 7 points while Walker Gerdes and Camdyn Friedman each added a FT.

 

The Eagles will be back in action on Tuesday night when they host Cornell in Vermillion Conference action.

Eagles Take Turkey Shootout With Split Vs. Odell & Dwight

November 28, 2017

Saunemin's 8th grade offense struggled in Game 1 of their Turkey Shootout, hitting only 4 FG vs. Dwight.  The guests took a 36-10, lead into the half, en route to a 49-17, win.

Camdyn Friedman led the Eagles with 8 points.  Colton Ketcherside scored 4, Walker Gerdes added 3, and Colohun Hagan scored 2 points.

Saunemin's 8th graders went on a 7-0 run in the 4th Quarter in the final game of the weekend against Odell, and snagged a 30-26, win over the visiting Rams.

Ketcherside led the Eagles with 12 points.  Friedman added 9, Hagan with 5, and Gerdes scored 4 points to round out the Eagles scoring.


Dwight & Odell Take Turkey Shootout Games From Eagles 7th Grade

November 28, 2017

The annual Turkey Shootout was held on Saturday the 25th, with the Eagles hosting Dwight and Odell.

In the opener, Dwight ran past the Eagles, 54-25.  Conner Telford had a game-high 17 points for Saunemin.  Tyson Cramer and James Durham each added 4 points.

Odell took the final 7th grade game of the day over the Eagles, 35-15.

Telford led the Eagles with 9 points.  Gilliam scored 3, Brandon Taylor added 2, and Reed Frazier dropped in a FT.


Eagles Drop Conference Openers At Flanagan

November 21, 2017

2nd Half offensive struggles again hurt the Eagles 7th grade in their Vermillion Conference opener at Flanagan on the 21st.  Conner Telford paced the Eagles with 8 points.  Tyson Cramer scored 4, while Myles Gilliam added a FT, in a 32-13, loss.

The Eagles and Falcons 8th grades were locked in a 3-4 point contest most of the night, with the Falcons coming out on top, 36-32.

Colton Ketcherside led all scorers with 18 points.  Camdyn Friedman scored 6, Trey Duck added 4, Telford dropped in 3 points, and Walker Gerdes added a FT, to round out the Eagles scoring.


Eagles Split Games At Tri-Point

November 21, 2017
Saunemin split Jr. High basketball games on Monday night when they travelled to Piper City to take on Tri-Point.
 
The 7th grade Eagles (2-4) came away with a 40-28, win over the Raiders as Tyson Cramer and Conner Telford each went double-digits in the scorebook with 19 and 15 respectively.  
 
The Raiders took an 18-15, lead into halftime and the teams were knotted up at 24 going into the final quarter of play.  The Eagles outscored the hosts 16-4, in the 4th to put the game away.
 
James Durham tossed in 4 points and Reed Frazier added 2 points to round out the Eagles scoring.
 
An 11-2 2nd quarter outburst by the Raiders put the 8th grade Eagles (2-4) in a 20-7, hole at the half.  Both teams scored 17 in the second half as the Raiders came away with a 37-24, home court win.
 
Walker Gerdes scored a season-high 14 points to lead the Eagles.  Camdyn Friedman and Colten Ketcherside each dropped in 5 points for Saunemin.
 
Saunemin opens up Vermillion Conference play Tuesday evening at Flanagan.

Eagles County Tournament Runs End

November 20, 2017

Saunemin’s 7th & 8th grade boys basketball teams concluded play in the Livingston County Tournament over the weekend.

On Friday, the Eagles 7th graders took a 17-8, lead into the half against Flanagan in a Consolation Bracket game, only to see the lead erased as the Falcons outscored the Eagles 21-3, in the second half, en route to a 29-20, win.
 
Conner Telford led all scorers with 14 points.  Reed Frazier added 4 points, and Preston Jama added 2 points to round out Saunemin scoring.
 
On Saturday, Dwight ran out to a 16-4, first quarter lead over the Eagles 8th grade, and a 25-8, halftime lead.  After an even 3rd Quarter, Saunemin went on a final quarter rally, outscoring the Redbirds 16-7, in the final quarter.  Dwight would hold on for a 37-30, win.  With the win, Dwight took 3rd Place in the County Tournament with the Eagles taking 4th.
 
Colton Ketcherside led all scorers with 13 points.  Other Eagles in the scoring column were Colohun Hagan with 10, Camdyn Friedman with 4, and Walker Gerdes with 3 points.
 
The Eagles will be in action Monday night against Tri-Point.

Eagles Drop County Semi-Final Game At Pontiac

Saunemin’s Livingston County Tourney run was stopped by Pontiac Jr. High on Thursday night as the host Warriors took a 37-22, win over the visiting Eagles in a tournament semi-final contest.

Pontiac jumped out to a 9-6, lead after one quarter of play, then blanked the Eagles 10-0, in the second quarter for a 19-6, halftime lead.  The teams played relatively even in the second half as the Warriors took at 28-14, lead into the final quarter.
 
Colten Ketcherside led the Eagles with 9 points on the night.  Cam Friedman added 8, Colohun Hagan scored 3, and Trey Duck added 2 points to round out Saunemin’s scoring.
 
The Eagles (2-2) will now play for 3rd Place in the County Tournament on Saturday at St. Marys against either Dwight or St. Marys.

7th Grade Eagles Drop County Tourney Game To Odell

Saunemin’s 7th grade Eagles dropped their Consolation Semi-Final contest against Odell in Livingston County Tournament play at Prairie Central, 25-11.  

The Eagles offense struggled out of the gate in the first half, trailing the Rams 4-3, after one quarter, and 10-4, at halftime.  The Rams blanked the Eagles in the third quarter, taking a 21-4, lead into the final quarter.  The Eagles offense finally came to life in the 4th as they outscored the Rams 7-4.
 
Conner Telford, Preston Jama and Tyson Cramer each scored 3 points, while Hayden White pitched in 2 points to round out the scoring.
 
The Eagles 7th grade squad will play at 4:30 in a Consolation Bracket game against Flanagan on Friday at Pontiac St. Marys.  St. Marys is serving as the finals host.

Eagles Battle Prairie Central In Livingston County Tourney Openers

November 13, 2017

Visiting Saunemin split games with Prairie Central in the opening round of the Livingston County boys basketball tournament, dropping the 7th grade game, and taking the 8th grade game.

 
Conner Telford’s 16 first half points paced the Eagles, as they battled to a 22-22, halftime tie with the host Hawks.  The Hawks went on a 19-3 run in the 3rd Quarter to take a 41-25, lead heading into the final frame.  The Eagles went on their own 9-4, run to close out the game, but the Hawks would prevail with a 45-34, win.
 
Telford had a game-high 24 points to lead all scorers.  Tyson Cramer poured in 8 points and Timmy Logan added 2 points.
 
In the 8th grade contest, the Eagles led at the half, 15-10, and held a one point lead at 23-22, going into the 4th quarter.  Two lead changes late in the game ended when Eagle Colohun Hagan scored with 8 seconds left, to give the Eagles a 31-30, lead.  A last second shot by the Hawks fell short as the Eagles held on to move into Thursday night’s semi-finals against Pontiac.
 
Camdyn Friedman scored 9 points to lead the Eagles.  Others in the scoring column were Colten Ketcherside and Hagan with 6 points, Walker Gerdes with 5, Telford with 3, and Trey Duck dropped in 2 points.
 
The 7th grade Eagles will play in the Consolation semi-finals on Tuesday against Odell at Prairie Central.  Game time is 4:30.
 
The 8th grade Eagles will travel to Pontiac in a tourney semi-final contest on Thursday at 7:15 vs. Pontiac Jr. High.

4/5/6 Grade Eagles Split Games At Veteran's Day Shootout

November 13, 2017
Saunemin’s 5/6 grade boys basketball team hosted their annual Veteran’s Day Shootout over the weekend on Saturday, with the hosts splitting their two games on the day.
 
In the Shootout opener, Conner Telford hit for 21 first half points, ending with 25, as the Eagles raced past Prairie Central’s 5th grade, 35-22.  Myles Gilliam and Timmy Logan each added 4 points, and James Durham added 2.
 
The final game of the day saw Ridgeview knock off the Eagles, 36-22.  Logan led the Eagles with 7 points.  Other Eagles in the scrapbook were Gilliam with 6, Telford with 5, and Durham with 4.

Eagles Grab First Wins Of 2017 With Wins Over Crescent City

Saunemin’s Jr. High basketball teams picked up their first wins of the year, knocking off visiting Crescent City in two games on Thursday night.

In the 7th grade game, the Eagles jumped out to a 9-6 lead after one quarter and a 23-10, lead at the half.  The visiting Hawks chipped away the the Eagles’ lead with a 10-4, 3rd quarter.  A 7-2 run by the Hawks to open the final frame cut the Eagles lead to 28-27, but the hosts ran off 6 straight points to close out the game with a 33-27, win.

Connor Telford and Tyson Cramer hit double-digits in scoring with 16 & 12 each.  Preston Jama scored 4 and Myles Gilliam added 1 point to round out the scoring.

The 8th grade Eagles picked up win #1 on the season with a 42-31, win over the Hawks.  Colten Ketcherside scored a team-high 18 points while Camdyn Friedman also hit double-digits with 12 points.  Colohun Hagan added 6 points, Telford scored 5, and Trey Duck added a FT.

The Eagles 4/5/6 graders will host their annual Veteran’s Day Weekend Shootout on Saturday, while the 7th & 8th graders open up Livingston County Tournament play on Monday at Prairie Central.

Eagles Drop 3 Competitive Games in Season Openers With Lexington

Saunemin hosted Lexington in Jr. High & grade school basketball games on Monday, dropping 3 games to the visitors.

The Eagles 4/5/6 graders opened up with a 26-15 loss to the Minutemen.

Conner Telford scored 11 while Myles Gilliam and Reed Frazier each pitched in 2 points.

In the 7th grade game, the Eagles jumped out to a 21-14, halftime lead.  Lexington went on a 15-3 run in the 3rd quarter to grab the lead after 3, 29-24, en route to a 41-34 win.

Telford scored 21 points to lead all scorers.  Tyson Cramer added 9 and Reed Frazier tossed in 4 points.

In the nightcap, the Eagles jumped out to a 9-7, lead after one quarter.  Lexington outscored the hosts, 17-8, in the 2nd Quarter to take a 24-17, halftime lead.  A big 3rd quarter by the Minutemen gave them a 42-19, lead after 3 quarters of play.  The Eagles responded with a 20-8, 4th quarter, but their rally wasn’t enough as the guests left with a 51-39, win.

Colten Ketcherside poured in a game-high 25 points, including 16 4th quarter points.  Camdyn Friedman added 10 points, while Walker Gerdes and Colohun Hagan each added 2 points.

Saunemin will play host to Crescent City on Thursday for 7th & 8th grade contests.


Annual Veteran's Day Shootout Schedule Released

The schedule for this year's annual Veteran's Day 5/6 Shootout was released today:

1000 - Saunemin v. Prairie Central 5th

1115 - Dwight 5th v. Prairie Central 6th

1230 - Prairie Central 5th v. Danville Schlarman

145 - Dwight 5th v. Ridgeview

300 - Prairie Central 6th v. Danville Schlarman

415 - Saunemin v. Ridgeview


E-FUND Capital Campaign Kicks Off This Month

For the first time, in some time, a perpetual giving program is being re-established with the goal of continuing to relieve the financial stress from our school board when it comes to financing our student activities and athletics.

Called the "E-FUND", the 5-year giving program is being unveiled this month to all SGS/SHS alumni.

"It has been a while since we've done something in this regard with our alumni.  We always want to be out in front of funding issues and needs in the future and want to make sure that we can do our part to keep the financial stresses on our school board to a bare minimum," said Saunemin A.D. Mike Stoecklin.

"This program is going to give alumni the opportunity to continue to support their alma mater, and will enable us to better plan for the foreseeable future," said Stoecklin.

For those interested in picking up a piece of memorabilia from our old gym, we still have pieces of our old gym floor, complete with nameplate indicating 'Saunemin Gymnasium' and the years of '1937-2013'.  You can own a piece of our, and/or, your own history today!  Orders are filled on a monthly basis and the contribution is completely up to you.  Shipping costs are $3.00.....anything in addition is up to you.
