CYO TRYOUTS 

CYO Tryouts for the 2017-2018 season will take place on Saturday, September 10 at the Shoreham Wading River Middle School.  There will be a boys and a girls team in grades 5 through 8.  

Tryout times are as follows:  Saturday September 9     5th grade 10:00 am-11:00 am

                                                                                         6th grade 11:15 am-12:15 am

                                                                                         7th grade 12:30pm-1:30pm

                                                                                         8th grade  1:45pm-2:45 pm

According to the CYO website "CYO continues to strongly maintain a commitment to Catholic values and excellence in sportsmanship ... The Athletic programs should be viewed as part of the faith building efforts of the participating members. These programs can be effective tools that will invite, welcome, and involve any person into the life of the faith community. The inter-relationship of CYO Athletics with family life, parish life, and school life is essential...."

At the request of St. Mark's Parish, the CYO basketball program will be taking a more active role in parish life. There will be team Masses at the 11:30 am Mass on the first Sunday of each month, as well as a hospitality hour immediately following this Mass.
