Subscribe to our NewsletterSt. Pete Gators Mission Statement:
St. Pete Gators Youth Sports encourages youth development by providing opportunities for personal and athletic growth. SPG promotes sportsmanship, self-esteem, and the development of life skills through engaging youth in sports while providing a safe, healthy, positive environment where the youth of our community can learn the fundamentals of sports.
Reaching out to high-risk, inner-city youth and getting them off of the streets into the playing field is at the core of SPG youth program. We embrace the kids enthusiasm and use our program to equip them with the necessary tools in becoming successful in life. Participants receive athletic instruction in one-on-one and group settings, and practice skills in team format play. They learn about rules of the game, sportsmanship, positive attitudes, fair play, self-esteem, taking responsibility for choices, and management of emotions. These life skills are integrated throughout the Football & Cheer Programs, and instructors routinely demonstrate how they apply to situations in all aspects of life.
