ABOUT US
Teel Ravens Baseball is a proven organization providing professional coaching, a positive environment and a common sense approach to the great game of baseball.
Founded by Garett and Sandy Teel in 2006, Ravens Baseball offers competitive teams at all age levels. Games are played in spring, summer and fall and practices are conducted throughout the entire year. Coaching, scheduling, logistics and general baseball operations are executed internally with professionalism, keen attention to detail and focus on our player development. The Ravens organization is on the forefront of the club baseball evolution. We’ve thrived and grown in the growing industry of club sports. What sets us apart from many of them is our extremely knowledgeable, committed and reliable coaches. They convey a comprehensive but accessible approach to our players. The approach prepares players to go home a better baseball player than they were yesterday.
We look for a specific type of player. Ability is certainly a focus and ideally we have players who can do many things well on a ball field but we ask for much more. We want coachable winners and true competitors. These players perform in the clutch and pick their teammates up when it needs to happen. These are the players that win championships. They may not even be the most skilled or gifted on the roster but they get the job done with consistency, positivity, high energy and respect and make any team they play on better. We want the player that stands out and that will move on to the next level: an individual that sets themselves apart on a daily basis; whether it’s picking a teammate up, executing a sacrifice bunt with the game on the line or hitting a double off of the wall in a pressure situation. Lastly, an exceptional player is one that can bounce back from failure. Baseball is a game of failure and a player’s capacity to show resilience in the face of adversity is an immense determining factor in their success.
Work ethic, sound mechanics and a clear understanding of baseball’s fundamentals is at the core of a player’s success. Training to implement and continually reinforcing these pillars is at the crux of our mission as an organization. Through the practice of these principles our teams are always in a position to get better and stay competitive. The Ravens have assisted and will continue to assist players of all ages to achieve their respective baseball goals.
Our program has 2 seasons-a combined spring/summer season and a fall season. Tryouts for our spring/summer teams take place in late October and early November of the year before. Our fall tryouts happen in late July.
