Does anyone out there watch Softball 360? Well to no one's surprise, I do. Well I was watching an episode today, and during an advertisement for the softball360.com website they had a montage of clips of people playin softball and what have you. Well I thought I saw something oddly familiar. Paused the dvr, let it rewind a bit, pause again. Ladies and gentlemen, Patriot Oil's own Kirby "Kirb Your Enthusiasm" Murphy. He was swingin a couple of bats in the on deck circle, makin Rhode Island proud!

Very cryptic. The end of what exactly? All I did was see our teammate on tv so I thought I'd poke a little fun at it. Know what I mean, Vern?

I can only assume that this post was done by none other than Chris "Long Ball" Vernet. No longer a forum reader lurking in the shadows. Congrats on your first post. Very insightful. We're all smarter for having read it.

So Mr. Ryman, I can see that you are very insightful about...NOTHING. I've seen your batting average, I've seen you play. You make more bad plays than the entire worst team in the league. I'd personally suggest that you shut up and learn to play better or just quit. You are useless. Quote me

rick relax. sure ryman is like the softball version of a redheaded step child at times(no offense Cornicelli), but overall he makes me snicker. Sometimes at him sometimes with him, but so far he just tries to start posts and get us talking. Leave ryman alone, he is special like that snowflake his mother used to refer to when explaining why he was so different.

How'd you know about my mother talkin about the snowflake thing? Creepy, Ern. Wait, are you my daddy?

Rick, you make me snicker. I love to play. As time goes on I'll get better. I'll get to know the top teir players (the ones that are shining examples of how great our league is. Don't include yourself in that list), pick their brains, and learn what I should improve on. Yeah its a bit frustrating for me, and im sure for others, that my love for the game doesn't match my talent to play it. Eventually I'll be able to hang with the big boys, but when that time comes, you'll still be a douchebag. See the difference?

On a lighter note with no insults Ryman, I think the consenses is for you to find other things to talk about, other than our players! Talk about players on other teams! That way they will have to meet you on the field 1 day and you can settle up that day! Leave all the team stuff in the closet along with your personal life,(ha ha ) ok one insult! Ryman i know your just trying to start some conversation but you need some new material(non patriot)! Reply nicely please! oh yeah Kirby told me he is going to have you pitch bp next time, he doesnt like the spotlight you know!

Plus anyone that has ever left Coventry knows who Kirby is and what he has done in softball. So the constant reminder that he is a monster that hits 400 foot bombs is not necessary

Drunk or sober I still get a kick out of Ryman. Not saying it is always intellegent but no need to single him out. He is still young and soon he will be a veteran like some of the others. Soon enough the young bucks will be asking him for advice while he is perving their g/f's.

I talk about the Patriot Oil guys because I know them best. I take my shots at the other guys too. Just let me post what I want. You can either read it, or don't read it, or ask Smitty to delete it. I don't care one way or the other, but im gonna post what I want.

Ryno, I don't recall making a lot of mentions of Kirby. Just in the highlights of last sundays game, and maybe one other time. This post was because me and my friend, who also plays for Patriot Oil, saw him on tv. I know Kirby reads the forums sometimes as he's made fun of me for it, so I wanted to bust his balls about it. Everyone just needs to relax.

OAWMF, thanks for the kind words and support. Had I gotten them a few months ago, you'd have gotten those bats from me for a lot cheaper.

Ryman I like you so don't take that the wrong way. I think you are kind of funny and I get a chuckle out of most of your posts. But you do alot of Kirby worship on here wheather or not you realize it.

I thought I didn't say that much, but if you say I do, Ryno, I believe you and will make a concious effort to remedy it. Just give me the benefit of the doubt that a young guy like me who enjoys the game as much as I do is gonna be a bit awestruck when he sees someone hit at that level.

If playing with better people makes or helps you get better, what happened to you? I think you try to please everyone on your Patriot Oil team but the person you can't please is yourself.

Rick, if you're trying to give me actual, constructive advice, by all means elaborate. Advice besides shutting up and quitting. Im not gonna quit, im not a quitter. I've also already paid for the league and uniform, which is all non-refundable.

Hey Ryman just to ease your tension I will give you the story of my first experience playing against Kirby. I doubt he would remember this or me but have fun with the story.
Around 10 years ago when National Gold was massive and almost unstoppable. My team (Contech) got matched up against them in a tournament in East Providence. We were way overmatched. First inning Kirby lines out to 3rd. Second at bat he homers but nothing special maybe about 325.
So in my youthful ignorance I am wondering why is he so great? I can do that too. He then hit 3 home runs in his next 3 at bats covering roughly 400 feet each. And the rest of the tournament he either it a 400 footer or was walked. He just needed a couple of swings to get going. And I learned my place in the softball world was much lower.
So there is my funny story of the 10 minutes I thought that I could hit on the same level.

That's funny, Ryno. My first time meeting him went almost the same way. Chip had been talkin him up for a couple of weeks so needless to say I was curious to see him hit.
Well the practice came, Ryan Hodges introduces me, then we start BP. Well when it came time for Kirby to hit, I for some reason ended up pitching to the guy. His first 3 or so swings were pop ups into the parking lot over at Hunter's. Well I thought wed been had and this guy wasn't all he was cracked up to be. He then littered the woods with softballs. Hit a few that hit the fence on a line, and scared the ever lovin shit out of me when he went opposite way.
That's the last story I'll tell.

And Ryan....That is why he plays for us. We needed a few positions, different types of players this year and we've accomplished SOME of that. I would love to had Animal (Dave Morrison) as well, but ...

Kirby sucks. He can't even carry Carlo's marble sack, never mind his bat bag.
