With the guidance and leadership of people like Jim Bell, Bob Peel, Debbie Green and Terry Coker, the GCBL was established in 1997 to give Gloucester County Towns the ability to play against Towns that they would most likely face in their respective High School Programs. 

The League has always had between 16 and 25 member Towns with 160 to 200 teams from Minors (3rd and 4th Grade Boys & Girls) to Seniors (7th and 8th Grade Boys & Girls).  The League was also established to provide a place where both, the competitive and recreational players can compete.
