Gloucester County Basketball League Tournament Rules:

 

ALL GAMES WILL BE PLAYED BY NJSIAA HIGH SCHOOL RULES, INCLUDING NEWLY ENACTED RULES, WITH THE FOLLOWING EXCEPTIONS:

SENIORS BOYS AND GIRLS “A” & “B”:     ALL HIGH SCHOOL RULES APPLY. 

JUNIOR BOYS AND GIRLS “A” & “B”:     PRESSING IS ALLOWED THE ENTIRE 2ND AND 4TH QUARTERS ONLY

JUNIOR BOYS AND GIRLS “A”, ONLY:       3 POINT SHOTS COUNT

MINORS BOYS AND GIRLS:      NO PRESSING, NO DEFENSE OUTSIDE THE 3 POINT LINE UNTIL BALL CROSSES HALF COURT.

ALL “C” LEVEL GAMES:       NO PRESSING, NO DEFENSE OUTSIDE THE 3 POINT LINE UNTIL BALL CROSSES HALF COURT.

MINORS AND “C” LEVELS:  During the FINAL two minutes of the 4th quarter and during all overtime periods, if a coach calls a timeout when his/her own player is in the back court, the ball must then be inbounded from the mid-court line into the front court. If the ball is inbounded to a player ABOVE THE KEY, the defensive team must allow the ball to be inbounded successfully before beginning their defense. If the ball is inbounded to a player positioned ANYWHERE below the key, the defensive team may begin their defense immediately, including attempting to intercept the inbounds pass.

PRESSING: At levels that allow pressing. No pressing shall be allowed if a team is ahead by 20 or more points in the 4th quarter. If the lead falls under 20 points, the team that is ahead my press again until the 20 point threshold is reached.

TIMEOUTS: 3 FULL AND 2- 30 SECOND PER GAME.

OVERTIME: 3 MINUTE PERIODS UNTIL GAME IS DECIDED

GAME PERIODS:

All playoff games will be a 10 minute running clock WITH THE EXCEPTION OF SENIOR "A" ONLY, which will be 8 minute stopped clock.

10 minute running clock rules: The clock will stop on time outs, foul shots, injuries and Official's time outs.  During the last two minutes of the the 2nd and 4th quarters ONLY, the clock will stop on ALL whistles.

8 minute stop clock rules; the clock stop on ALL whistles.

 

THE REFEREES HAVE THE DISCRETION TO REMOVE ANYONE THEY FEEL IS ACTING IN AN INAPPROPRIATE MANNER
