MARS Cheer - General Information for 2020

What

This is a fun, recreational league and there are no tryouts or requirements!

Who

Any 2nd to 7th graders in Adams & Middlesex Twps or Mars & Valencia Boro

The Cheer Squads are divided into:

Rockets - 2nd & 3rd grade

Astros - 4th & 5th grade

Martians - 6th & 7th grade

• The number of cheer squads per level follows the number of football teams.  Age groups may be split into multiple teams as necessary.

• Availability is based upon previous participation and first come, first serve so signup early!

• Each squad has 35-40 participants

When & Where

Cheer Practices

• Team practices begin the week of July 27th
• Before school begins, practices are Monday through Thursday, 6-8pm
• After school begins, most teams practice 1-2 days per week. Practices are limited to not more than 6 hours per week, 2 hours per day.
• Days and times are at the discretion of the coaches
• Practice location could include Mars Boro (Marburger) Field, Middlesex Park or Adams Township Park 

Games

• Typically Saturdays and are 2 1/2 hours long
• Game times starts can range from 9am - 8pm
• Regular season games start August 15th and last through mid-October
• Three week playoff schedule with the Super Bowl on October 31st!

• The MARS home games are played at either the Mars Athletic Complex (MAC) or the Mars Boro (Marburger) Field. Away games are at the home team's local field.

 UNIFORM INFO

Registration MUST be paid in full before you

receive your uniform!

Skirts, vests, boy shorts and bows will be handed out

 at the beginning of the season! 

Warm-up suits will stay the same as last year.  New participants to the program will need to purchase a warm-up suit, clear rain jacket, white gloves and winter headband.

Pom poms and boy shorts are included for first year participants.  If needed, replacements for returning cheerleaders will need to be purchased at uniform fittings.  

Mars Youth Cheer Swap Shop - Buy and Sell Your Cheer Gear and Attire!

Thanks to one of our league parents, we have established a "Mars Cheer Swap Shop" on Facebook.  This is a Facebook group to buy, sell, trade or give away items for Mars youth cheerleaders in our program.  You may be able to find gently used or new Mars Cheer gear, shoes and other cheer items.  This group is not associated with the Mars school or it's cheer program.  To find the group, search for "Mars Cheer Swap Shop" in your search button on Facebook.
