Covid-19 Certification for Administrators, Coaches & Umpires

All Coaches and Umpires over the age of 18 must complete the below course prior to start of season

Concussion Training Mandated by State Law for ALL COACHES AND UMPIRES

 

Ohio law mandates that all coaches, assistant coaches, and referees to obtain specialized training in recognizing the symptoms of concussions and head injuries every three years. 

Bethel Diamond Sports, Inc. requires every baseball and softball coach, assistant coach, and umpire to successfully complete the free online concussion training prior the first game.  The training will take less than 30 minutes and will require that you print a certificate of completion at the conclusion of the video.

It features interviews with leading experts, dynamic graphics and interactive exercises, and compelling storytelling to help you recognize a concussion and know how to respond if you think that your athlete might have a concussion.

Once you complete the training and quiz, please email or print out the certificate, and provide a copy to your district rep. 

Lindsay's Law: Sudden Cardiac Arrest in Youth Athletes

Lindsay’s Law

Lindsay’s Law, Ohio Revised Code 3313.53103707.58 and 3707.59 went into effect in 2017.

In accordance with this law, the Ohio Department of Health, the Ohio Department of Education, the Ohio High School Athletic Association, the Ohio Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and other stakeholders jointly developed guidelines and other relevant materials to inform and educate students and youth athletes participating in or desiring to participate in an athletic activity, their parents, and their coaches about the nature and warning signs of sudden cardiac arrest.
