Warm-up stretch drill

Highly organized athlete-lead warm-up stretching prior to practice
starting.  This practice was on the 8th floor of one of Toyo Univer-
sities (Japan) training facilities.

:30 conditioning drill

This conditioning drill was held in the amazing Japan Institute of
Sports Sciences and Japan's National Training Center.  Again, the
athletes lead the drill which is designed to teach leadership.

Varied conditioning drills

Another athlete-lead drill with simple exercises done in and exciting,
fun, and taxing way.  Relays seem to add spice to conditioning drills.
Explode, relax, repeat!

Buddy carry sprint drill

USA athlete lead buddy carry sprint drill with a twist.  In this video,
you can see the enormity of the JISS or NTC 8-mat room.  This drill
causes fatigue and is just like our sport.  Explode, relax, repeat!

Centipede drill

Another amazing drill brought to you by the Japanese.  Everyday,
the ath
letes pushed the limits of their abilities at this camp.  If they
can do it, so can you!

Line drills with jumps

This drill, really a circle drill, can also be executed in a single file,
line drill.  Explode,
relax, repeat is the them for many of these
conditioning drills which mimics the
actions in our wonderful sport.

Circle line drill 2

This is a continuation of "Line drills with jumps" and shows more ex-
ercises that can be done.  Also, listen to how the Japanese wrestlers
are encouraging each other.

Relay conditioning drill

This is a continuation of "Varied conditioning drills" that shows a
variety of exercises that can be done to add more motivation to
training.  This drill
enhances leadership & ownership of training.

"Full circle" drill

These drills are original Japanese drills that the USA Women's Nat-
ional teams have been using for years.  Many of these drills have
been passed down from team to team over the years.

Under-hook situation drill

Kaori Icho, 3X Olympic Champion, (in picture below) drills with the
USOEC the last day of training at the JISS.  This drill can be used for
all wrestling skills
to execute a series of skills for the same position.

Japan training tour 2008

This was the first tour to Japan at the famed Chukyo Women's Uni-
versity.  Saori Yoshida,
3X Olympic Champion (left below), takes a
photo with Jenna Pavlik & Coach Shannyn on
a train ride to down-
town Tokyo.  There are MANY amazing drills in this 23 minute video.

Japan training tour warm-up 2008

This is the second video of the CWU tour in Japan.  Kaori Icho kids
around with Coach
Shannyn in the below picture at the JISS.  This
second installment captures even more
amazing exercises that will
help you gain an advantage.  This video is 37 minutes in length.
