Expression of Interest - Northeast U18 Developmental A Program
NEMHA is seeking interest from its membership for a U18 Developmental A Hockey Program. The intention for 2020-21 is to have 2 teams made up of 11 skaters and 1 goalie each. These 2 teams will practice together each week and play a game against each other.
To be considered for this division, players must be registered with Northeast Minor Hockey. Participating players will be expected to attend weekly games and practices when scheduled.
With the recent decision to not have a DMHL U18 Developmental League in the Metro area in 2020-21, we feel that this new program will provide a development opportunity for players wanting to continue playing competitive hockey (i.e. High School, Minor U18, Major U18, Junior, etc.) in the future.
Developmental program players will be required to have a high-level of commitment and desire to continue their hockey development. Players who do not attend scheduled games and practices without reason may have their registration transferred back to the NEMHA Midget House League Division and be replaced by alternate players. While schedulers cannot guarantee there will not be conflicts, we will do our best to minimize conflicts with High School Hockey.
This program is separate from the traditional NEMHA Midget House League. Any player presently registered that is selected to be part of the U18 Development Program will have their registration transferred. If requested and space is available, a player playing in the Developmental Program could participate in the traditional NEMHA House League as well but would be subject to a separate league fee. Any players that are not presently registered for NEMHA Midget programming can contact the NEMHA office and request to be placed on a wait list for the Development Program.
U18 Development Program registration is $695. Once the program is up and running there could be additional costs for such things as additional ice time, exhibition games, tournaments, training, etc.
