FAQs

- What type of equipment does my child need?

All players will need their own equipment.  At a minimum, this will include a bat, glove and batting helmet.  Players will also be responsible for their own pants, footwear and belts (at the levels where it is required).

Baseball Specific requirements

Bats -  must meet the USA bat requirement, except for the Bushkill Valley (age 13/14) where BBCOR bats are required.

Cleats - Cleats are required for Rookies level and above.  Tball players should wear athletic footwear.  All cleats must be non-metal, except Bushkill Valley Baseball where metal cleats are allowed.

Pants – Tball should wear any type of athletic pants.  Baseball Rookies should wear a grey baseball pant (drawstring is OK).  Baseball 8U and above will wear grey baseball pants and a black belt, unless your coach notifies you of another color.

- What things will be different this year, due to COVID?

We encourage you to read the Return to Play guidelines that were provided during registration and are available on our website.

Can my child be on a team with another child? Or, can my child have a certain coach?

At the younger ages, for special cases, we can try to accommodate these types of requests (provided the players/coaches are at the same age level).  Special cases include carpooling, being a relative, etc.  At the upper levels (minors and above) team assignments occur through a draft and we cannot entertain special requests.

- Are 4-year-olds allowed to play T-ball?

Yes.  We don’t advertise for it, but we do allow 4-year-olds to play upon request.  Some 4-year-olds are better able to handle it and we look to the parents to determine if their child is ready to play.

- When are games & practices?

Practice days and times will be determined later, based on the availability of coaches and fields.  Game schedules will be developed by each of the different leagues and will be distributed closer to the season. The younger levels will typically have a total of 2-3 games/practices per week. The older levels will typically have 3-4 games/practices per week.

- Where are games & practices?

Practices and home games will be played at the Bushkill Township Recreation Fields (across from the Bushkill Township Municipal Building).  The location of the away games will be dependent on the level of play but are all typically within a 15 – 30-minute drive.

When do games & practices start?

At the older levels, practices will begin as soon as the weather permits.  Typically, this is sometime in late March or Early April.  The Younger ages usually start in early April to mid-April.
