8U - Canon Mac (Main Host) (Gold (Top half of each DIvision) and Silver Brackets (Bottom Half of each Division) Single Elimination Tournaments - Canon Mac to Host as Many Early Round Games as Possible and Host Semi-Finals for both brackets. Both Championship games held at Washington Wild Things Park

CVC Managers Meeting 3/24/24 Starting at 12pm @ Bridgeville Fire Hall
The Managers meeting is scheduled 3/24/24 starting at 12pm in 1/2 hour timeslots by age group at Bridgeville Fire Hall, 370 Commercial Street, Bridgeville, PA 15017. We will review the rules with each age group and hand out schedules.
All teams should send their manager or an assistant at 6u, 8u, 10U Slow, 12U Slow, 15U Slow, 18U Slow, 10U Fast, 12U Fast, and 15U Fast. YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR FOLLOWING THE RULES, NOT ATTENDING THE MEETING IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE EXCUSE FOR NOT FOLLOWING RULES.

CVC Spring 2024 March Declaration Meeting 3/10 1PM @ Bridgeville Borough
The March CVC Declaration meeting was held Sunday March 10th 1PM at the Bridgevile Borough Building at 425 Bower Hill Rd, Bridgeville, PA 15017. The meeting agenda was as follows:
1) Pay registration fees / provide rosters with players(if available now), must provide coaches info, home game info and no play dates . Link to Roster Form
- If you cannot attend the meeting you can email your completed roster forms to CVCLEAGUE@HOTMAIL.COM and send check for fees payable to CVC to the address of the Treasurer: Shane Franchick 1414 Critchfield Dr Bridgeville, PA 15017
- League Fees:
- 6U - Free
- 8U - $85 per team
- All other ages slow and fast - $85 per team if you provide proof of USA Softball Insurance, otherwise $110 if you do not have USA Softball Insurance as fee ($30) is being passed along to teams
2) Rules to be voted on in March:

- NO - Allow players to play up even if they have a game with their team at the same time. This would require the Orgzanization to approve the player playing up and not attending their regular teams game.
- NO - If Org does not offer a an age group, players can play anywhere and not be considered out of district players
- NO - 10U Fast - Allow players to steal 2B and allow pickoffs. Currently 10U Fast only allows stealing 3B and no pickoffs

4) Roster / Draft Rules:
- Fast Pitch - You cannot have more than 2 out of school district players per team
- 8u - You must have 75% of players rostered in your school district
- Slow Pitch - You cannot have more than 4 out of school district players per team
- You must evenly split the number of players between mutiple teams for the oldest age of an age group. For example, if you have 3 teams in 10u age group you must divide the teams equally at the oldest age
- Use the players age as chart below (basically calculated as age on Aug 31, 2023 for the Spring Season: Use Age Calculator link to determine age based on birthday:
5) Playoff Hosts. CVC has worked with the Washington Wild Things to play all championship games at WIld Things Park 6/24-6/28. Tentative schedule is:

The CVC Feb Voting meeting was held Sunday 2/25/24 1PM at the Bridgeville Borough Building at 425 Bower Hill Rd, Bridgeville, PA 15017. The meeting agenda was as follows:

3) Results on rule changes/clarifications:
- NO - 8u - Change minimum age to umpire from 13 to 16
- YES - 8u - Clarify 1st and 3rd base any overthrow out of the baselines on ball back to the pitcher is a dead ball at the time it passes over the baseline
- NO - 8u - If a ball is thrown in from the outfield and an infielder has control of the ball they can raise their hands to stop play. If runners are beyond the 3/4 lines the get the base they are going to, if not they go back to previous base
- YES - 8u - Clarify rule - If a runner is not forced but attempting to advance to the next base only and the ball is thrown back to the pitcher circle immediately, the runner not forced is not sent back to the base they started at regardless of passing the hash mark. Add they must run on contact and player makes no attempt to make a play and just throws ball back to pitchers circle.
- YES - 10U Fast - Runners can lead once the pitcher releases the ball instead of when the ball crosses the plate

- You must evenly split the number of players between mutiple teams for the oldest age of an age group. For example, if you have 3 teams in 10u age group you must divide the teams equally at the oldest age

CVC Spring 2024 Kickoff Meeting 1/27 1PM @ Bridgeville Borough
The CVC Kickoff meeting was held Saturday January 27th 1PM at the Bridgeville Borough Building at 425 Bower Hill Rd, Bridgeville, PA 15017. The meeting agenda was as follows:
1) Role call - Avella, Baldwin, Beth Center, Brentwood, Bridgeville, Brookline, Castle Shannon, Collier, Fort Cherry/Midway, Moon Twp, Mt Lebanon, Munhall, Peters Twp, Ringgold, Scott Twp, South Fayette, South Park, Trinity, TWIST, West Greene. Westwood
2) USA Softball Rep presentation - Dan Isaacs District 10 Commissioner presented information about orgs joining USA Softball and benefits. CVC has to pay $30 per team for USA Softball for teams not registered under USA Softball. For that fee you are getting insurance, thus most orgs are being double covered and should consider if they can just go with USA Softball.
3) Nominate for Board Positions to be voted on in Feb meeting:
- President - Joe Boneysteele incumbent rerunning
- VP - Shawn Arlet incumbent rerunning
- Treasurer - Shane Franchick incumbent rerunning
- Secretary - Joe Bolton incumbent rerunning
- New position - Slow Pitch Commissioner - Jim Schindler and Jason Pluechel running
4) Suggest rule changes/clarifications to be voted on in Feb Meeting:
- 8u - Change minimum age to umpire from 13 to 16
- 8u - Clarify 1st and 3rd base any overthrow out of the baselines on ball back to the pitcher is a dead ball at the time it passes over the baseline
- 8u - If a ball is thrown in from the outfield and an infielder has control of the ball they can raise their hands to stop play. If runners pass the lines the get the base they are going to, if not they go back to their base
- 8u - Clarify rule - If a runner is not forced but attempting to advance to the next base only and the ball is thrown back to the pitcher circle immediately, the runner not forced is not sent back to the base they started at regardless of passing the hash mark. Add they must run on contact and player makes no attempt to make a play and just throws ball back to pitchers circle.
- 10U Fast - Runners can lead once the pitcher releases the ball instead of when the ball crosses the plate
- All Slow Pitch - Eliminate 25% out-of-district rule and replace with maximum of 4 out-of-district players (regardless of roster size)

8) New Rates - Cost to register team in CVC increasing from $75 to $85 (If you show proff you are registered thru USA Softball) or $110 (If the CVC need to pay the $30 to register you teams in USA Softball)
Umpire Scheduling fee paid for your home games when umpires are assigned - increasing from $4 per home game to $5 per home game
9) Organizations that want to host playoffs should be prepared to request in Feb Meeting. CVC has worked with the Washington Wild Things to play all championship games at WIld Things Park 6/24-6/28.
