Don Sallee will be entering his 12th year as a member of the Union Knight staff. He as coached wide receivers all ten years and has also served as offensive coordinator for the freshmen and sophomore teams.

Donnie's son, Logan is a member of the 2011 state championship team and was a three-year starter at Buena Vista University.

Prior to joining the staff at UHS, Sallee was an assistant to Hadachek with the origination of the Dysart Youth Football Club which became the Knights Youth Football Club in the second year and was the only youth sport at that time to combine the Dysart and La Porte City kids. The first KYFC team consisted of a great number of players who took UHS to the Dome during the state championship season.

Donnie's claim to fame as a member of the Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings team in high school was picking off NFL legend Kurt Warner who was the QB for Regis High School.

Donny has a son-Logan and a daughter-Natalie
