Coach Scott Denner will be entering his 9th season on the Knight football staff. Denner is the associate head coach and a physical education teacher at Union. He has attended the IWU Line Camp for six summers and is a great student of the game. Denner will coach the varsity offensive line, oversee our younger coaches with our frosh/JV program, and will be coordinating the managers.

Denner coached Carter Hennessy (Mankato State), Tate Renaud (Ellsworth CC), Alex Barz (Wartburg) and Carter Brehm (first team all state) who is slated to play at UW-Platteville this fall.

Coach Denner was recently appointed head strength and conditioning coach for all Union sports programs. He is a certified Speed & Agility Specialist and also assistant boys track coach.

Scott comes to us via Postville HS where he was the former Head Coach. Coach Denner led his team to the playoffs at Postville and also was an elementary teacher. Prior to his Postville position, Coach Denner was a standout athlete at Turkey Valley HS and then played at Wartburg College. He was an impact player for the Knights and received some NFL scout attention.

Scott and his wife, Stephanie, reside in La Porte City, IA with their son Broderick.
