Alberto Ariza

Alberto Ariza enters 2024 in his seventh year working with the Parade Ground League (PGL) as the Director of Communications and the main administrator of the PGL website.

As the Director of Communications and main administrator of the PGL website, Ariza's responsibilities include but are not limited to, the maintenance of www.leaguelineup.com/pglbrooklyn, writing and distributing press releases, entering and updating schedules, keeping track of standings, and collecting scores from all PGL games, maintaining historical archives, and promoting all members of the league to the PGL community through media outlets.

He also works for PGL as the youngest umpire officiating games in the PeeWee, Cub, Bantam, Grasshopper, and Freshmen Divisions.

Alberto earned his Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York at New Paltz.

He currently works for Prep for Prep, an educational program that develops future leaders by creating access for young people of color to first-rate educational, leadership development, and professional advancement opportunities, as an Admissions Officer.

Alberto previously worked for the SUNY New Paltz Department of Athletics, Wellness, & Recreation as the Athletic Communications (Sports Information) Student Assistant. He was responsible for all statistical work, which included keeping statistics during home varsity games, sending statistics to the NCAA and to the opponent's Sports Information Office, posting schedules and rosters for each sport, public announcing at every home game and uploading box scores on the New Paltz athletics website at the conclusion of each game.

In addition to working with the Sports Information Office, he was a student ambassador on campus through the Office of Undergraduate Admission during his sophomore and junior years. He gave tours weekly to prospective students and their families.

When the summertime arrives, he coaches for the Brooklyn Bonnies. 2022 will mark his 14th season coaching with the Bonnies. In 2014, he helped guide the first Bonnie team to win a World Series championship. The following year with the same team, his team was able to capture the 2015 NABF 12U World Series which gave them a free berth to the first-ever Youth Baseball Network (YBN) National Championship held in Branson, MI as the team to represent NABF. Teams that participated in this tournament were winners of national tournaments, such as AABC, AAU, Dizzy Dean, CABA, and the host team. His team finished in 3rd place. Additionally, Alberto is the main website administrator and Media Director for the organization.
