2019 Managers Agreement

2019 Mason Amateur Baseball Organization Managers Agreement
1. All managers must conduct themselves in accordance with their league affiliations and Mason Amateur Baseball (MAB) rules and policies. Furthermore, MAB managers understand, accept, and agree to manage their team with principles of: (1) Safety first, (2) play by the rules, (3) teach fundamentals, and (4) play with sportsmanship.

2. The manager will ensure that their team personnel shall treat the game with respect. The manager is responsible for the conduct of his Team, himself, coaches, players, parents, and fans. Disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated. Failure of the manager to control his team and personnel could result in the manager being suspended and/or expelled from MAB.

3. All managers and primary assistant coaches are required to be a certified pursuant to the National Youth Sports Coaches Association. Failure to be certified by the NYSCA will result in said Manager/Assistant being removed from the team.

4. All managers consent to background checks if required by the league or city of Mason.

5. A Team representative is required to attend all MAB meetings. Teams must participate in all MAB events.

6. Each manager is responsible for his team financially and in all other aspects of the team (uniforms, equipment, verify schedules).

7. Knothole teams, all divisions and all classes, must have no less than 12 and no more than 20 players on their roster.

8. All players must meet the age and eligibility requirements for that class in Knothole or their respective league. Over age players are not allowed at any level on any MAB team.

9. All players to must either reside in Mason or attend school in Mason. Exceptions must be approved by MAB Board to be eligible. League rosters must have a minimum 75% players living in Mason, attend schools or Premier Members at the Mason Community Center.

10. MAB teams understand that weather and other uncontrolled acts may delay scheduled game time starts, however, managers should notify their players, parents, and opposition that a game delayed is still a scheduled game. Failure to comply may result in loss of future field dates or subject to a $50.00 fine per infraction.

11. Teams taking batting practice or warm-ups (unless taking infield before the start of the game) should avoid the freshly lined chalk. Furthermore, if fields are soaked to the point that footprints are left in the dirt then stay off the fields. Subject to $50.00 fine.

12. All teams must police their area before, during, and after all MAB practices and games, this includes both dugouts. All trash should be removed after your game. Final game of the day: rake batter’s box/ pitcher’s mound areas to fill in holes. Failure to complete to this step can result in a $75 fine.

13. Absolutely no soft toss utilizing any fences at any of the MAB baseball fields, cages or other areas at anytime.

14. Teams are encouraged to use the batting cages and are required to share time with other MAB teams. Non-MAB teams are NOT allowed to use the cages. Cages must be locked after all individual team usage. Loss of key is $100.

15. Teams must follow their league rules regarding batting practice (whereby players are using a bat to strike any object). For example MAB teams that are playing teams outside of Mason are not allowed batting practice thirty (30) minutes prior to the start of any scheduled game nor during the game --- this includes cages, hitting sticks, pop-ups, BP on another field, or any hitting activity.

16. Managers are required to check the field master schedule daily, or each time the schedule is updated. It is the manager’s responsibility to review ALL field schedule updates and proof read for errors. Cancellation of a game within twenty-four (24) hours of the scheduled game time shall result in a charge of $75.00 being assessed to that team (goes towards payment to umpires and field prep). “Double-scheduling” or “squatting” on open fields via manipulation of the master schedule will be assessed a fee of $50.00 per infraction and may result in a manager’s
suspension.

17. Managers must be properly prepared before, during, and after their game to expedite all games being played on that day. All teams must be on the scheduled field fifteen (15) minutes prior to game time. Managers must be ready for ground rules ten (10) minutes prior to game time.

Only MANAGERS may take ground rules.

18. Umpires must be paid CASH at ground rules, before the game begins. Cash denominations less than $20 bills are preferred.

19. Umpires are to be treated with respect and courtesy. Managers and players should be the only source of contact with umpires. Specifically, the manager is the only person permitted to question/contest an Umpire’s rule(s) interpretation.

20. The conduct of a coach deemed "abusive" by the Ethics Review Board shall result in the individual serving a minimum one calendar year suspension. "Abuse" shall be defined as, "Any offensive pushing, striking, or touching, by a coach before, during, or after an MAB game or practice".

Physical abuse of children/players/spectators/officials at MAB events shall not be tolerated. After completion of the suspension, individuals suspended under this rule must petition the MAB Ethics Review Board for reinstatement to participate in MAB in any capacity. At that time, they will need to provide sufficient evidence of their conduct stability to ensure the Ethics Review Board that no such abusive behavior will be repeated. Neither this rule, nor the ruling of the Ethics Review Board, on whether the incident in question is abusive shall be appealable. In the event the Ethics Review Board determines the objectionable behavior falls short of "abuse" but is nevertheless conduct that is contrary to the fundamental objectives of the MAB, the Ethics Review Board may impose a lesser suspension at their sole discretion. In order to manage a team, all managers must sign this Mason Amateur Baseball (MAB) Manager Agreement and abide by its terms and conditions and the actions of the MAB Board, District 34,GCKA, MWOL, SWOL or whatever league affiliations team is associated with. MAB Board will rule on special cases, exceptions, and ejections, supplemental to District 34 and GCKA action.

Failure to abide by the aforementioned rules and policies may result in the following actions : (1) $75.00 fine,(2) suspension, (3) District 34 action (suspension or expulsion), (4) MWOL or SWOL action, and/or (5) tenure reduction for field scheduling purposes. (6) Termination from Mason Amateur Baseball.
