Section XI has had a Misconduct Policy in effect since November 1986. Successful implementation of this policy requires the cooperation of each official servicing our program. Therefore, we request that you review the specifics listed below.

REPORTING A PLAYER, COACH OR SCHOOL FOR MISCONDUCT

1. Each time a player or a coach is ejected from a contest and anytime a player, coach or school displays abusive conduct (verbal or physical), Section requests that you complete the form and email it to Pete Blieberg (pblieberg@sectionxi.org) by noon the following day.
The form on the SOGS leaguelineup.com site is designed to forward your report via email upon completion.

PLEASE NOTE:

1. Your obligation as an official allows no other course but to enforce the rules of the sport relative to misconduct. When a player displays action which is abusive, deliberate or malicious before, during or after a contest, this is considered misconduct that must be reported.

2. Your decision regarding misconduct must be simultaneous with your decision to eject the athlete or coach from the contest. We emphasize that this is your judgment and your decision cannot be reversed!

3. Also to be reported are those breaches of sportsmanship or actual incidents of violence which occur before, during or after a contest by:

a. A coach who harasses officials or otherwise conducts him/herself in an unprofessional or unsportsmanlike manner.

b. A school which permits its spectators to conduct themselves in an abusive manner.

4. FOUL OR ABUSIVE LANGUAGE IS NOT TO BE TOLERATED!

5. The Section XI Misconduct Policy indicates that a player ejected from a contest for misconduct may not participate in his/her team's next regularly scheduled contest (including post season contests). If a suspended player participates in a contest, he/she is deemed ineligible and that contest is considered forfeited.

6. Please understand that it is the responsibility of the Section XI staff to determine whether or not a penalty will be imposed related to your reported incident of misconduct. The (officials) responsibility ends with filing the report. Officials do not impose the penalty, Section XI does. Officials shall to complete the form with clear concise factual information.
Please recognize the importance of respecting the sport and your fellow officials who take this responsibility seriously. Your Presidents Council requests that each and every misconduct violation be reported in due course.

7. You have the full support of Section XI on this matter and your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
