| Right guys I had a little think about the game against moray, and I was also thinking about the squad numbers. As you know we have a rather big squad and some players didn’t get the chance to play in Edinburgh and Irvine game. This brings me to the point I was going to make. To allow someone else to get a game that hasn’t played this season, I am asking to be dropped for the game, not that I would be picked anyway, but in case I am, I think it would be a nice gesture. Let me know what you think
Cheers stevie

| I think that's a great gesture, Stevie, especially in the eyes of someone who would possibly benefit from it! In all seriousness, I think it raises a valid point, since my memory seems to tell me that there has been a u-turn since the AGM in how teams were going to be picked for games. My concern is that the only matches we have between now and th end of the year are Plate games, all of the homem games being in allocated training times. As someone who would not be a 'first pick' for these games, my training time is being made unavailable. It is also worrying that there have been no friendlies arranged. In any event, regardless of what happens, could someone ensure the game lines, including reserves, are posted on this site asap so we know what we are all doing. Ocne again Stevie, hats off for a great gesture

| Guys, as chairman and manager, the buck basically stops with me and, as such, I hear and appreciate your concerns and frustrations. I agree, nowadays, we do pay a pretty high cost for our hockey and therefore have the right to expect a fair return for that outlay. However, I have to say that the committee are not doing any U-turns or going back on anything agreed at the AGM. There will be games arranged where the lines will be made up of those players that are not normally picked for the more competitive matches. At the moment we are trying to make sure that all our mandatory matches for the Scottish Plate etc are in place and scheduled. Those matches require an away and a home game against every other team in our group. The home games can only be arranged on the ice which is available to us and often this will fall on our training time. For this reason, it was discussed with the Coach (Stacy) that for the match against Elgin we will dress as many players as possible, bearing in mind that only 20 out players and two netminders are permitted on the bench. This procedure will prevail at all home matches which take place on our training ice!
Stevie, you are completely correct when you point out (in your ‘Random rant’) that it is wrong and counter productive to single out any one individual, during a training and learning situation, for open criticism and chastisement. It, generally, only has a negative effect and, I agree, has no place in a recreational environment.
All valid problems, highlighted here, will be addressed by the Committee ASAP.

| Faitha,
Could you please put up a team selection and lines as you did for the game at Irvine as soon as possible? Just so everyone (as well as me) knows where they stand for the game on the 3rd as it wasn't to my knowledge mentioned at training on saturday morning.
Cheers!

| I am available to play, but I understand becaue I couldn't make training (I was still in work at 5am) I might not be selected for the game on Saturday.
But it would be good to know what is happening.

| I second that one, nothing of the game was mentioned at all on saturday to my knowledge, and there wasnt even a consensus to find out who was available or not!!
also, whoever is in the lineup, would everyone be happy turning up that wee bit earlier to make sure we all have time to get ready and have a decent team talk and a decent warmup - just cause we very rarely have time to do both!!!
i know its early but the longer were up the more awake we will be!!!!

| Guys,
I don't know where this idea came from that if you miss one weeks training you will be ceremoniously dumped into some sub group that aren't picked for games. THIS IS NOT THE CASE!! If you are enthusiastic about the club, but on one or two occasions can't make a practice for sound and acceptable reasons, it won’t affect your position on the selection roster! If, however, you consistently miss training for no acceptable reason at all then you will not be among the first choice for selection! It’s all a matter of integrity.

| Calum/Gaz,
If you take the trouble to read my entry 5 above this one you will see that we will be dressing as may players as possible , on Saturday, That is up to the permitted max, i.e. 20 out players and two netminders. Within the next couple of days I will put four lines together and send them to the coach and captains. Then! they will be put on the website.
