| Right guys don’t take this the wrong way but I have a few concerns that I would like to be aired. Now am not bitching and I’m not having a go at anyone before I get started, I would just like to get a few things off my chest (yes Andy it is a big chest and no you cant play with it). After talking to a committee member about the issues I addressed below, I was told to put it on the forum for feedback. Not to rabbit on to much, but at the Edinburgh game the first line introduced a rule that in the second period that if they win a face off in the opposing teams end, then they would not come off the ice when called as they had worked hard for the face off. Now my concern is that the rule was not made gospel for all lines, but only for the first line. I think that was a little unfair and as it is, I find the first line to be the only line that can over rule the 90 second shift. The point is if that rule has to stand, then I think it should stand for all lines. Second point I would like to make is the point about “you have to train to play”. Does this rule stand? Now I know a lot of people are shift workers or have family commitments, and again this is not a dig at these people. I just find that if the rule stands then it has to be kept. As far as I was led to believe if I didn’t turn up at training I wouldn’t get a game, now I wouldn’t have a problem with this if it wasn’t for the for the fact that I had back spasms and still made training, where some players didn’t make training and were still picked before others. Personally I am also finding that I am in a way, not finding training or games as fun as I did last season due to the bitching on the bench. Now constructive criticism I am all for that, but some guys just find that putting another player down for mistakes made on the ice is a vital part of the game. My suggestion is, if some one cocks up, don’t take it out on them, address it if you have to, take them aside and tell them where they have went wrong and how to fix it but leave it on a positive note by commenting on something that they did do right when they were on the ice. Other point is, were not an NHL team, so lets try and bring some of the fun back to training and playing, scrap the shouting and balling, because at the end of the day were a recreational team, yes we want to win, but mostly we want to play for fun and enjoy ourselves.

| Some valid points Stevie, have been the subject of the bitching myself. Only thing is, it's a lot worse when they haven't got the guts to say it to your face.....

| Stevie,
The idea for our line not to come off when we had an attacking face off in Edinburgh was my idea, and I put my hand up to it. I only called it because I owned every one of their centres and had not lost a draw, so was a good opportunity for us to get shots on their goalie. I didn't want us hauling any other line off the ice when a face off came in their zone, so we didn't do that, all I asked was if my line was already on the ice and in their zone we got a chance to win it and shoot. If it all went pear-shaped, we came off the ice at the first chance, and didn't take a full shift. I'd be happy to make that suggestion of mine a teamwide rule, unless the coach has other ideas. Only fair you get to take the chances your line creates. Hope this clears that up big man, it wasn't done to screw any of the other guys over, and if it did, I'm sorry big man.
