| For those who are not aware of it, the International Tie Breaker was passed into our by-laws in 2011 and is in effect for all age groups except for T-Ball. Here is the rule:
All teams (with the exception of T-Ball) tied at the end of regulation shall continue the game under the international tie breaker rule. In each half inning of an extra inning game, the offensive team shall begin its turn at bat with the player who is scheduled to bat last in the respective half inning being placed on second base. Example: if the number 5 batter is scheduled to lead off the half inning, the number 4 batter will be placed at second base.
This rule was put in to make scoring in extra innings more likely and to eliminate the likelyhood of ties. This rule is not a negotiable rule that the coaches decide if they want to use. If a game goes into extra innings, this rule will be used.
