I have had numerous calls from coaches about the process for drafting players up. Here are the rules.

1) Player drafted up can only be as follows
League age 9 Minors can draft to Major Boys
League age 10 Girls can be drafted to 14U Girls
League age 14 Girls can be drafted to 18u girls

These are the only draft ups allowed

2) You can only draft up if you will have less than 11 players present for the game. Your total roster for that day of drafting up cannot be more than 11 players total, including the draft up

3) the proper paperwork must be present at the game. The proper paperwork is the following:

Official draft up sheet from the edison website handouts section

This must be signed by the parents and the players regular coach. If not signed by
Both, the player cannot be drafted up.

The paper must be presented to the umpire before the game begins

4) The player must wear their regular teams uniform, not a uniform given to them by the team they are drafted up to.

5) Players drafted up are not allowed to pitch

6) Players are not allowed to be drafted up after a game begins. Draft ups may be used after a game has started only if that game is suspended until another day and and they are drafted up before the makeup starts, and as long as all other draft up rules are followed.

7) Any team caught drafting players up illegally will result in forfeit of the game for playing illegal players.

Everyone needs to read this rule and follow it. If a player is too young to draft up they must not be drafted up. League age for each player is list on the rosters of each team. It does not matter what the players real age is. It is the league age that matters.

We have already had one team forfeit a win because of this. Follow the rule.
