| I sent an email to this site 10/20/04, thanking EGBR for the fall ball season. I mentioned Rick Pettenger because he was such a positive influence on my son (Alex) and I. Rick's coaching style was firm, yet gentle at the same time.He wanted his team to compete as hard as possible, and accomplish this in a respectfull fashion. Rick understood the importance of a positive experience for his players at this level and at the same time taught them to respect the game,the opponent, and each other.
We have all lost one of the "Good Guys".My family's heart and prayers go out to Donnie and his family.
