Quinn Construction Mudcats Squeak Out Win Over Klingensmith
Quinn Construction scratched out a run in the first inning with some small ball. Ryan Kandsberger led off with a walk and moved to second on Zack Miller's sac bunt. Kandsberger moved to third on a pitch in the dirt and then scored on Brandon Donovan's sac fly. The Mudcats second run was scored in the third inning. With two outs, Zack Miller drew a walk and then stole second. The catcher's throw went into centerfield and Miller came all the way around to score as he caught the defense off guard. That was all the runs the Mudcats could produce off of Klingensmith starter, Luke Padezan, but it was all they needed. Cody Gross pitched a solid 4.1 innings and kept the Klingensmith bats silent. Corry Ryan relieved Gross in the 5th and slammed the door shut to earn his first save of the season.
