Chad Jacob Homer In Extras Propels South Park To Victory
South Park and the Orioles opened the season in exciting fashion, going 8 innings before South Park prevailed. Starting pitchers Nick Arnoni and Caleb Catherine locked horns and held the opposing offenses in check throughout the game. Arnoni went 6 innings allowing 2 earned runs while walking 5 and striking out 11 Orioles as he surrendered only 2 hits. Catherine went 7+ for the Orioles, striking out 9 while walking 4. Dylan Pounds picked up the South Park win by pitching scoreless 7th and 8th innings as he struck out 4 Orioles. Chad Jacob broke the deadlock in the top of the 8th with a towering home run to center. Derrick Vargo and Lorenzo Marefka had the Orioles 2 hits. South Park was led by Brandon Warner who was 4-4 with a 2nd inning homer, Anthony Monaco who was 2-4 and Mike Spadafore also picked up 2 hits for the winners.
