Terriers Beat Golden Spikes Baseball By 12 Runs!
Terriers blew out Golden Spikes Baseball 16-4 on Saturday.
Golden Spikes Baseball knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the second inning. Golden Spikes Baseball scored two runs when Brett Davies doubled with one out in the second inning.
Terriers took the lead for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Damian Maglione tripled off of Chris Punka, driving in one run and Will Haueter tripled off of Punka, driving in one run.
Terriers scored eight runs in the fifth inning. Terriers's big inning was driven by a double by Dalton Davis, a double by Austin White, a triple by Tom Eslich, and a triple by Evan Maley.
Matthew Kittelberger earned the win for Terriers. He tossed five innings, surrendering four runs, six hits, and striking out eight. Punka took the loss for Golden Spikes Baseball. He went four innings, surrendering ten runs, eight hits, and striking out three.
Terriers collected 13 hits. Maglione, Jared Houser, Haueter, and Eslich each collected multiple hits for Terriers. Eslich went 2-for-3 at the plate as he led the team with three runs batted in.
