Late Score Costs Terriers Against Core Athletics.
Terriers lost the lead late in a 3-0 defeat to Core Athletics on Saturday. The game was tied at zero with Core Athletics batting in the bottom of the sixth when Joey Luciana singled off of Matthew Kittelberger, driving in one run.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Core Athletics pitchers struck out four, while Terriers sat down five.
One bright spot for Terriers was a single by Evan Maley in the third inning.
Chris Anastas earned the win for Core Athletics. He threw seven innings, allowing zero runs, four hits, and striking out four. Matthew Kittelberger took the loss for Terriers. He pitched six innings, allowing three runs, five hits, and striking out five.
Jared Houser led Terriers with two hits in two at bats.
Core Athletics didn't commit a single error in the field. Ryan Eshenbaugh had the most chances in the field with ten.
