Sons of Italy Lions improved their regular season record to 18 wins and 1 loss with a 2-0 victory over Sokol. The Lions opened the match scoring on a Eric Baranowski goal, when he was sent in on a Rob Cowie pass, and calmly beat the Sokol goalkeeper Kevin Krause. Later in the first half of play Sokol midfielder Mauricio Martinez received his second yellow card of the match. The Lions would pressurize throughout the second half, however Dave McPhail, Frank Buoncore, and Rob Cowie were all foiled by the strong netminding of Krause. Alex Muchnik of Sokol received his second yellow card of the match part way through the second half forcing Sokol to play with two men down. Steve Sawatzky recorded the shutout for Sons of Italy making opportune saves at key moments during the match.
