Sons of Italy Lions defence of their 2002 National Championship came to an end with a 2-1 semi-final defeat to Hellas. The Lions trailing 1-0 at half-time found themselves trailing 2-0 with fifteen minutes remaining in the match, when Sean Margison pulled the Lions to within one. The Lions could not equalize, and the score ended with a Lions on the short end of a 2-1 match.
