It's been a while when I last posted my game analysis since Kaliwete is doing a tremendous job providing insight analysis of every game on a consistent basis. Regardless whether he's on the mood (his team won the other night) or on a sleepless night (his team were routed or suffered a cardiac loss on a heated match), still, he gave us a nice summary of the games which benefitted those who are not around. Keep it up Kaliwete!!! Here is my fearless forecast/analysis of the semifinal match between the streaking Bucks and the dark horse Magic... On the beginning of Season 10, upon releasing the lineup of each team, I knew then that the Bucks will give the opposition a run for their money. With a deadly combination of their SG (John) and SF (Vince V) lineup both hitting from the outside, it only a matter of time before these two guys click with each other and turn the lights out of their opponents. During the first part of the season, they didn't struck any lightning on the rest of the teams as they suffer multiple setbacks after winning their initial game. Thanks mainly to the adjustment period and inconsistent plays on some of their teammates. Some are still adjusting from a being a "Batman" to "Robin". The second half became a different story. The consistent and improving plays of their big men, C(Jay) and PF(Ninon) boost their confidence skyhigh. Their defense also stepped up and some steady plays from their reserves made them a favorite team come playoff time. On the other hand, the Magic didn't played well to their initial billing as the Dark Horse roaming around in "Peryahan" instead of the Magic Kingdom. Despite having a complete and strong lineup on every position, they still manage to win just only two games courtesy of the lowly Blazers. This was because since the start, they haven't been completed on their lineup which somehow brought the team their moral down. Some players played out of their usual position. Like some other teams, they just played through the motions. On paper, this team should be on the top 3 but they went south instead. Although they loss their last elimination game with a hairline, but with the way they played during that fateful night, you'll know that they still have some Aces on their sleeves. True enough, they ambushed the much higher-seeded and the high-octane offense of the Atlanta Hawks on a game synonymous to their last outing: full of suspense, drama, heroism and nail-biter plays. With their moral-boosting win, their playoff stocks went up tremendously. The consistent play of "The Diamond", the inspiring game of the "New Daddy" and the power balance of RV became the glue that bonds this team together. One interesting note is they won when their second leading scorer and surrogate Legend (JD) was not around. Matchup wise, the Bucks have an advantage specially when they open up their offense on the outside. Magic can capitalize on their half court plays anchoring the offense through their low-post men. If all the first five matchup being equal, it will boil down on the Reserves. In this case, the Bucks has big advantage. As long as "The Niño" will not come late and wear a "Sleeping Outfit", they can easily advance to the Last Dance... Advantage: Bucks Until then... Signing Out, Torero

Playoffs Round 1 Results –- PACERS 71, BLAZERS 53 -- The Blazers were up against a tough challenge to try and beat the top ranked Pacers. Unfortunately, they had an even tougher challenge with themselves as they could not get a full team to show. Playing with subs, the Blazers gave a solid effort. Eph led the way with 25 as he tried to carry to team to victory. But the Pacers would be too much. Even without starting forward Bong, they were able to dominate the Blazers. Brian filled in nicely with 10 points, including 2 3 pointers. 8th man Chris also had 10… Arnel and Louie had 11, and Beng led the way with 21. Pacers roll, as expected. –- MAGIC 42, HAWKS 38 –- In a rematch of last week's close game, we knew this would be a close contest, and it delivered. Defense was the name of the game in this one, and the pressure from the Hawks frustrated the Magic all game. Missing sniper Joel, the Magic struggled to find points. Mark led the way with 13 and Randy had 10, as the Magic scored mainly on fast breaks off their own defensive stops. The Hawks countered with their relentless rebounder, 8th man Gilbert, who had 10 points, and sniper of the season, Bogart, who had 15, all on 3 pointers (a new Liga League record for 3 pointers in a season!). It came down to a couple key plays. The Magic were able to break a late 4th quarter tie and take the lead on a drive and floater by John Suarez. The Hawks, who had lived by the 3 all season, would die by the 3 also… Bogart was called for an offensive foul trying to get open for a last second 3 to win it. Magic win! -- BUCKS 49, JAZZ 46 – The matchup of my preseason favorites turned out to be another outstanding game. After going to double OT in their last meeting, both teams were ready for the showdown. Neither team could pull away as the game remained close throughout. This was easily the most physical game of the night, as the teams made more free throws than the first two games combined! The Jazz offense was a bit out of sync, a combination of sloppy passing and physical defense by the Bucks. The presence of Bucks center Jay allowed them to control the paint better than their previous matchups. Joel, Ferdie, and Merrick had off shooting nights, as well as having a tough time with the refs, and combined for just 17 points. The Bucks were struggling also. The Jazz athletic defense limited their scoring duo of John and Vince to just 22 points. That will get you a win on most nights, but the Bucks role players stepped up, as Ninon had 13, and Alex came up with a pair of 3’s, on his way to 9 points. The Jazz closed it to 3 points as Leo hit a 3 pointer to end the game for a team high 19 points. Bucks win! ** THIS WEEK'S GAME -- BUCKS VS. MAGIC -- WINNER ADVANCES TO THE FINALS -- SEE YOU THERE! **

Pacboy: That's why we play the games! We all know the playoffs are a different story. I don't mind that my predictions were wrong, especially for one of the games. The teams did play in the styles I suggested, but the advantage didn't turn into victory for the favorites. Both of the "underdogs" in the second and third games earned the victory with lots of energy, and it should be a great match up this week. -- Stay tuned for reviews of last week's games and this week's playoff preview!

Kaliwete mukhang sumablay ang prediction mo.... Pacers lang ang nanalo sa sinabi mo mahirap talagang magpredict ,bilog talaga ang bola you never know who will win. Or maybe the ones that you predicted not to win took it to heart to prove you and everybody wrong? All the teams played their hearts out except the Blazers na apat lang ang nagpakita ano ang nang yari doon? Magic at Bucks lalaban para harapin ang Pacers . Goodluck sa lahat !

Week 10 Results –- BUCKS 66, BLAZERS 52 -- The Blazers had their two top scorers, Eph and Andrew in action, and they both delivered, with 15 and 19 points respectively. Unfortunately, their rock on defense, Mon, sustained an injury and the defense wasn't the same after that. The Bucks took advantage, as Jay had a season high 16 points. John had 16, and Ninon poured in 10 as the Bucks closed out the season with a win. -- HAWKS 54, MAGIC 52 -- The Magic looked to get their first win streak of the year, and they got off to a quick start. They had a balanced effort, with 5 players scoring 8 points or more, led by Randy's 14. But the Hawks controlled the boards and of course Bogart was lights out from outside again, with 4 threes on his way to 16 points. The Magic had a chance to win the game with a last second 3, but it rimmed out as the Hawks escaped with the victory. -- PACERS 43, JAZZ 39 -- In what many feel is the finals preview, the Pacers faced off against the Jazz. The Jazz welcomed the return of Ferdi, but were missing Leo. They had a rough night shooting, as the Pacers would lead most of the way. Joel led the Jazz with 11 points. The Pacers controlled the paint, as Arnel bowled his way to 17 points. The toughest play of the night was the injury to Bong, who may be out for the playoffs with a knee injury. The Jazz closed the gap, but the Pacers finished the game for the win and the top seed. ** Check out the main page for playoff previews! Good luck to all teams!

Thanks for letting me be part of this fun league. Good luck po sa inyong lahat. Panalo o talo, sa Tapsilog Truck din ang punta :-) My prediction: Any of the top 3 teams + Milwaukee can win it. Pero the top 2 won't be a lock, the 3rd seed or 4th seed have plans and capacity to take it all the way!!!

Hmmm... I smell playoffs is in the air. I wonder who's going to win it all? Is it the heavy favorite PACERS manned by CHEF DIESEL? Or is it Merrick of the JAZZ with his high ARC 3s? Could it be the BLAZERS? The HAWKS? The BUCKS or The MAGIC? Whoever it is….. it will be fun playoffs! Regular season and records are nothing. PLAYOFFS IS A NEW SEASON and this one MATTERS THE MOST! GOOD LUCK TO ALL TEAMS!

Week 9 Results –- HAWKS 42, JAZZ 41 – As the playoffs get close, the games are getting better! The Jazz and Hawks were neck and neck throughout this game. The Hawks held a narrow lead for most of the game, as Nap led the way with 15 points. Edward was everywhere grabbing boards and making steals on his way to 11 points. Despite many free throw attempts, the Hawks could not seal the game. Without Edgar and Gilbert, they had a tough time sealing the boards against the bigger Jazz. The Jazz had yet another comeback, led by Joel’s 15 and Merrick’s 11. But the Jazz were in foul trouble throughout this game. They took a few small leads, but could not pull away. The game went to overtime. Merrick had a chance to win the game at the free throw line, but he too could not make a free throw. The Jazz held a narrow 2 point lead, but Bogart nailed a 3 from the wing with just 4 seconds to go, as the Hawks stole the victory. –- BUCKS 62, PACERS 49 -– The Pacers have already clenched the top seed, and it looked like they were just waiting for the playoffs, as they were short handed. The Bucks ran away with it, as Vince got a personal layup drill on his way to 26 points. The game was quickly out of reach within the first few minutes. The Pacers would make a push in the second half, but they were never able to get close. –- MAGIC 56, BLAZERS 50 – The Blazers and Magic looked to rebound from losing streaks. The Blazers were with Andrew, but they gave a good fight. The backcourt trio of Eph, Eddie, and Vince all scored double figures (16, 12, and 10 points), as they ran at every opportunity. Mon was solid in the middle and caused problems for the Magic inside. But Mark ran away with this one on his way to 23 points. Joel had 12 with usual assortment of jumpers and inside moves. The Magic also welcomed back new daddy John Suarez! He kept things under control in the closing minutes to seal the win for the Magic.

Week 8 Results –- JAZZ 61, MAGIC 52 –- Playing short handed again, the Magic took the early lead. They got a balanced effort with 4 players in double figures, led by Joel with 15 points. But they could not clear the boards against the Jazz, as Joel, Howard and Leo were able to rebound at will. The Jazz were just too strong at the end, as Merrick closed out the game with a 5 point spurt in the last minute, on his way to 19 points and a Jazz victory. –- PACERS 71, BLAZERS 49 -- Andrew Santos was back in action and made his presence felt with a team leading 23 points to spark the Blazers, who were without Mon and Yong. But one scorer cannot win the game by himself, as the Pacers had 5 players in double figures led by Arnel’s 19. The Pacers coasted to victory. -– BUCKS 43, HAWKS 39 –- The Hawks tried to outrun the Bucks, who were playing with just 5 players. Leading the charge was 8th man Gilbert, with 17 points. Unfortunately, they had an off shooting night. After Nap’s 8 points, no other Hawk had more than 4! The Bucks took the first half lead, led by John with 19. They held off the Hawks for the upset victory.
