Peanut April 7, 2012 12:37:48 AM Entry ID: 1964098 | Sir Bong M, mukhang na-sense ni Mane na kontrapelo yung dalawa. Anyways, nice game. It may have surpassed the drama created by last year's championship game. For me, so far, this is the best Ligaleague Finals game ever. Congrats to both teams and to Basketman and GROs for a well-organized season! |
Bong M April 6, 2012 12:14:50 PM Entry ID: 1964046 | Mane, tama. Pero kasama ako nila Eddie and Hector sa Season 12. But unlike them, I am playing with Arnel this time. |
Mane April 6, 2012 11:01:37 AM Entry ID: 1964037 | Factoid o' the day (Part Quatre)--Player(s) who has beaten the Diesel on his last failed championship bid? Eddie and Hector (former Indiana Pacers -- Pacers vs. Blazer circa Season 12) who will be playing for Duke |

Arnel Manabat, which is not a surprise (Blazers, Magic, NC, and NC). Hope you get drafted on his next team. Good luck tonight. |
Kabog April 5, 2012 2:51:01 PM Entry ID: 1963891 | Factoid o' the day (Part Deux)...UP was the last powerhouse to go back to back......how many ex UP Maroons are on each team? 3 each (NC=John, Arnel, Leo) (Duke=Hector, Eddie, Bert) |

Matt Jimenez, CA March 22, 2012 10:00:17 AM Entry ID: 1961070 | Very nice analysis Torero. Thanks. Truly this season has pretty even teams in terms of skill sets. It could have been anybody from the 2nd to the 6th position. Kudos to LL GROs and Admins. As for #1, NC, from the hindsight, it was expected. You have 2 franchise players together in the same team. Looking at their stats, they are the main go-to guys in the team, and as such, the scorers. My take is that instead of making the best player/s retire, why not tweak the formula and don't allow franchise players to be in the same team. We all know who they are, for there are not that many of them. If you look at the seasons when they were not together, they didn't win the championship. Hope this is taken as a suggestion, and not as disrespect to the LL committee. I love this league and I am sure there is always room for improvement. |
Labo Labo March 21, 2012 3:47:59 PM Entry ID: 1960925 | Thanks 2-Rero for the write up. |
Torero March 21, 2012 3:22:55 PM Entry ID: 1960922 | Well, we are entering again on another highly intense, highly competitive playoff basketball the Ligaleague has to offer. This is where "we forget the past and here were are at last" moment. The playoff ranking is no longer important, well, except for the No. 6 where it has a herculian task of beating The Reigning/The Defending/The Trophy Collecting/The Soon-To-Be-Retiring/Top Seeding team, North Carolina Tar Heels, all teams from second to last are on equal match up. This in fact have been proven during the last game of the elimination rounds where we need to bring a calculator and apply a tie-breaker rules to the last three teams (a first in the history of the league???)... North Carolina vs. Notre Dame..."Nagkabigayan last time", these are the words that I heard from the reporters after the game's press conference. This is also the main reason why we have a cliffhanger for the fifth spot. Regardless whether it's true or not, you can't blame the Tar Heels by relaxing a bit since they may get their vengeance anytime soon. With all their parts working smoothly, including their newly designated CLOSER in Mike G, the gods are in favor of this team to repeat making Coach Bong M to display additional hardware on his table during the next "inuman session" on their house. If this happened, will this be the right time for The Diesel to hang up his jersey while still on top (calling GROs to start drafting his retirement program, and make this soon please :-)). On the other hand, with their win last game, the Fighting Irish got their needed confidence. They have the tools to compete with the best teams in the league. Majority of their losses came from the breaks of the game. Nevertheless, they need two gigantic upsets to stay in contention... California vs. UNLV...These teams battled for two games with an average winning margin of 1.5 pts. They are matching up very well as they split both their games. The Running Rebels were in a decline as of late. They should have loss six in a row if not for their close win against Notre Dame. They started very hot by winning their first three games in a solid fashion making them the early contender. However, the lack of a backup guard and scoring from their bigs are hurting them. They should have been great defensively but seems they are having difficulty guarding teams with quick guards because of their inability to spread the floor. While they are in a downward spiral, the Bears are starting to patch things up and winning some important games. Who would have thought that after lossing three straight games at the start of the season, here they are at the No. 2 spot. Their win against Syracuse last game solidified their ranking at 2. Otherwise, they are 4th team to join the dreaded tie-breaker rules. Unless UNLV made a major defensive adjustments, the Bears will have a walk in the park when they decide to run and gun... Syracuse vs. Duke... Beating the number one team North Carolina three weeks ago, the stocks of the Orangemen came soaring high. They became a dark horse come playoff time. Looking closely, their lineup is composed of 70% guards, yet, they found ways to win ball games. They mostly move without the ball making their opponent guess who will take the shots. They also have reliable big men so mostly, they take outside shots knowing that one of their teamates can get the rebound. However, their lack of size might also hurt them in a long run. Winning three in a row basically saved the Blue Devils from hell by avoiding the curse of being the No. 6 team. Being the last team for the last nine weeks, Duke rose from the dead and became the 4th team on the rankings. They started peaking at the right time. Can they carry this momentum going to this weeks pivotal game? This may be depending on who showed up during their game. Most of their beatings came when they have a depleted lineup. These two teams can be a good match up as well, having both speed and size... Betting starts now!!! |

KettleOne, CA March 13, 2012 2:40:24 PM Entry ID: 1959556 | None taken bruh. You are right and let the LL official/s do the final analysis. But mine is just based on Rules and Regulation page, #11: 11.Tie Breakers. (1) Head-to-head record amongst the teams involved, if still tied then (2) Points differential of the head-to-head games |
headscratcher March 13, 2012 11:16:47 AM Entry ID: 1959507 | @Tomador.. Your tie-breaking explanation is somewhat comfusing.. no offense... Would like to hear from league office how will they rank the teams should 4 teams end up in a tie. |
