Q. Do you play with a puck or ball?
Q. What equipment do you provide? A. The league provides protective balls, goals, and sideline barriers.
Q. Do you provide any special equipment for the goalie? A. We do have a goalie mask, however it is strongly recommended that you are able to supply your own equipment before signing up to be a goalie.
Q. Can I bring my own equipment? A. Yes, You can bring your own equipment but it must comply with the league rules. Please verify by emailing the league commissioner or floor officials before purchasing equipment. All sticks must be taped. Teams are required to use our floor hockey balls to ensure safety.
Q. What kind of staffing is provided at the games? A. We provided a certified game official and a score/time keeper.
Q. Do you guys use a scoreboard? A. We have a nifty table top electronic scoreboard that does a marvelous job. Also, we are in work to get a new top of the line LED score board on the wall.
Q. What is the size of the net? A. Official Size 72" x 48" x 33"
Q. Is this a checking league? A. No, Most of our players have to go to work the next day and can`t afford to spend the night in the emergency room. We expect everyone to behave on and off the playing area.
Q. How many players do I need to have committed before I start the team registration process? A. You need to have 10 players minimum. We recommend that you do not have over 15 players so everyone gets a fair chance to play.
Q. How are the periods broken down? A. You will play three (3) fifteen (15) minute periods with a 2 min break between periods.
Q. What venue are you using? A. We are playing floor hockey at the Maplewood Salvation Army in the gymnasium. They just finished a complete refurbishment of the gym floor which will provide the best playing in the area. Chairs on the sidelines and floor barriers will be utilized. Plenty of free parking is available. The A/C runs at full blast during the games to ensure everyone is comfortable.
