SPF Middle School Ice Hockey is getting ready to enter it's 12th season this Spring, 2017. The middle school program has grown every year and is for all ice hockey skill levels (beginner, house, travel), along with any roller or street hockey players.
It is an opportunity for all Scotch Plains-Fanwood kids (grades 5 – 8) to play ice hockey with their local school mates and friends. The middle school program also acts as the feeder program for the SPF high school ice hockey program.

The season runs from the end of March through June. Most games are Friday nights or Sunday mornings (to avoid local baseball, soccer and lacrosse conflicts) at Union Sports Arena (USA). Most games are against local rivals Westfield, Cranford, Clark, Springfield, Berkley Heights, etc..). There is also one weeknight practice per week at USA, starting late March, 2017.  There will most likely be one “checking” team and one “non checking” developmental team. The cost for the season will be around $300 per player (10 – 1 hr practices, 10 – 1.25 hr games + playoffs). All equipment is supplied by the player.

All practices are coached by SPF high school head coach Matt Gunther. All games are coached by USA Hockey certified SPF parents. All assistant coaches are certified hockey parents from town. The middle school program is managed by Anthony & Johanna Tittanegro (jtittanegro3@verizon.net), so please contact them with any questions.
