Subscribe to our NewsletterThe Blue Chip Collegiate Baseball League (BCCBL) began its inaugural season in the summer of 2019.
The goal of the BCCBL is to give College baseball players in the Metro area a place to hone their skills preparing themselves for the upcoming college baseball season.
2019 Recap
The BCCBL consisted of the Long Island Astros, New York Cardinals, Diamond Spikes, HDMH Baseball, Long Island Noreasters, New York Redbirds, Batting 1.000 Seminoles, Long Island Sound, Long Island Storm, Long Island Thunder, Long Island Titans Blue, and Long Island Titans Gold in the 2019 season.
The 12 team League was divided into two Divisions (North and South) that consisted of 6 teams. The conclusion of the regular season finished with HDMH and the Astros in first place in their Divisions.
The All-Star Game was held at Mitchel Field, home of Molloy College. Fans experienced a spectacular pitcher’s duel that ended with the South defeating the North, 2-0.
The playoffs consisted of all 12 teams in the League in a single elimination tournament until the championship game. The final four teams of the playoffs were the Astros, HDMH, Sound, and Storm. HDMH and Storm advanced to the best of 3 championship game. HDMH defeated the Storm in the Championship and was crowned the 2019 Champions.
2020 Recap
After a successful inaugural season, the BCCBL powered up with Perfect Game.
With the corona virus pandemic sweeping the Nation, the BCCBL implemented new rules and regulations into the League to protect all players, parents, coaches, umpires, and fans.
The 2020 Season welcomed two new teams into the 12 team League. The Long Island Titans White and HDMH Navy were added with the Long Island Astros, New York Cardinals, Diamond Spikes, HDMH Baseball Grey, Long Island Noreasters, Long Island Sound, Long Island Storm, Long Island Thunder, Long Island Titans Blue, and Long Island Titans Gold remaining from the 2019 season. With the passing of BCCBL board member Paul Wise, the League decided to play under one Division renaming it the Paul Wise Division. The conclusion of the regular season finished with HDMH Navy in first place.
Due to COVID-19 there was no All-Star Game.
The playoffs consisted of all 12 teams in the League in a single elimination tournament. The final four teams of the playoffs were HDMH Navy, Diamond Spikes, Titans White, and Storm. HDMH Navy and Titans White advanced to the championship game. HDMH Navy defeated the Titans White by the score of 3-1 and was crowned the 2020 Champions.
2021 Recap
The 2021 Season welcomed two new teams into the League. The New York Nine and Diamond Birds were added with the Long Island Astros, New York Cardinals, Diamond Spikes, Long Island Nor'easters, Long Island Storm, Long Island Thunder, Long Island Titans Blue, and Long Island Titans Gold remaining from the 2020 season.
The 10 team League was divided into two Divisions (American and National) that consisted of 5 teams. The conclusion of the regular season finished with the New York Nine and the Long Island Nor'easters in first place in their Divisions.
The All-Star Game was held at Mitchel Field, home of Molloy College. Fans experienced a suspenseful game with the score ending in a 4-3 American Division victory.
The playoffs consisted of all 10 teams in the League in a single elimination tournament. The final four teams of the playoffs were the Thunder, Astros, Nor'easters, and Titans-Blue. The Nor'easters and Astros advanced to the championship game. The Nor'easters defeated the Astros by the score of 1-0 and was crowned the 2021 Champions.
2022 Recap
The 2022 Season welcomed ten new teams into the League. The Tri State Arsenal, Team Beast Black, Team Beast Red, Brentwood Braves, Dodger Nation, Next Level, Batting 1.000 Seminoles, Team Steel, Long Island Strong, and Yeti Baseball were added with the Long Island Astros, 17 Sports (formerly Diamond Spikes), Long Island Nor’easters, Long Island Storm, Long Island Titans Blue, and Long Island Titans Gold remaining from the 2021 season. Next Level finished the regular season in first place in the 16 Team Division.
The All-Star Game was held at Mitchel Field, home of Molloy College. Fans experienced a pitcher’s duel with the score ending in a 2-1 American Division victory.
The playoffs consisted of all 16 teams in the League in a single elimination tournament. The final four teams of the playoffs were the Titans Gold, Arsenal, Storm, and Dodger Nation. The Titans Gold and Storm advanced to the championship game. The Titans Gold defeated the Storm by the score of 5-1 in 8 innings and was crowned the 2022 Champions.
2023 Recap
The 2023 season welcomed MVP Baseball into the League. The Long Island Astros, Eastend Aviators, Team Beast, Brentwood Braves, Dodger Nation, Next Level, Long Island Nor’easters, Batting 1.000 Seminoles, Team Steel, Long Island Storm, Long Island Strong, Long Island Titans Blue, and Long Island Titans Gold returned from the 2022 season.
The 14 team Division concluded with Next Level finishing in first place during the regular season.
The All-Star Game was held at Mitchel Field, home of Molloy College. Fans experienced a come from behind win by the American Division, 7-6.
The playoffs consisted of all 14 teams in the League in a single elimination tournament. The final four teams of the playoffs were the Astros, Seminoles, Nor’easters, and Titans-Blue. The Astros defeated Titans-Blue in 8 innings, 13-8 to be crowned the 2023 Champions
